My husband and I just returned from a weekend at the Haraseeket Inn. We received a gift certificate for our anniversary so we could have a getaway. From the moment we walked in the front door we were treated like royalty. The staff was pleasant and smiling, the atmosphere was quaint and inviting. We enjoyed the afternoon tea in the sitting room as well as meals in the Broad Arrow Tavern (Jenny our server was a delight!) The bedding was luxurious, the room was well-appointed and the pool was a welcome respite from the winter cold of New England! Walking distance to the town of Freeport made it fun to do some shopping at LL Bean as well as many other shops.
Overall I would highly recommend and will certainly return.
PS- Don't be surprised if the owner sits down to chat for a while!

Third stay at the Harraseeket Inn and did not disappoint. Great spot if your in Freeport and want to do some outlet shopping. The Inn is within walking distance to all the outlets and restaurants. Love the afternoon tea, which is much more than just tea. The room was very comfortable and the sheets were top of the line and very comfy. I really enjoyed the oversized tub and the bathroom towels were very soft. The breakfast buffet was excellent, lots to choose from and they even offered gluten free options.

Room Tip: If your a light sleeper my recommendation would be to request a room on upper level floors. We had...

Thank you for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us but we're also very sorry you were disturbed by noise from the lobby area. The door to the first floor wing should be kept closed and we'll make sure our staff is reminded of this. Our apologies! Thank you again for your review and look forward to your next visit!

Our second trip to this beautiful Inn was even better than the first time for our winter get away. As mentioned many times by tripadvisor reviewers Harraseeket's staff is outstanding, breakfast amazing and tea hit the spot after long day of shopping. Spoke with Maria while she working at afternoon tea, she is a very sweet girl and asked us if we would be eating at Broad Tavern that night cause she was working. Maria did a fabulous job suggesting food and knowing just when to ask if we needed anything. We will be back next March, hopefully with some friends and family.

Room Tip: Queen room with view of garden was perfect, since we didn't spend much time in our room.

This was our first stay at the Inn and there were a number of things that would make us return. The first and foremost were the staff. They were extremely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, no matter how small the request. The breakfast buffet was very good and the afternoon tea was terrific. There was surprisingly little noise in our first floor room which I greatly appreciated.

Small things that were overlooked surprised me for a four star rated property. Room cleanliness wasn't what it should be. The ice bucket was used and dirty. IT was supposed to be clean and filled with ice upon check-in according to our brochure. The hotel binder of what they offer was also dirty and out of date. The stationery had food stains on it which were very unappealing. The menu for room service was out of date I discovered after my dinner arrived. I ordered the panko crusted baked fish with a sundried topping and it came sans any crust. It was very plain and had little taste. (They also said that they would have ice water on the table when delivered. There was none.) When I called and told the restaurant they informed that the menu was out of date and promptly credited my account without my having to ask. Also, I called 400 for room service and was told that it should read 402 on my phone and could I please write the correct number in ink? I found that to be a very strange request for a 4 star hotel - though minor.

Thank you for posting your review. We appreciate your bringing to our attention the housekeeping issues you encountered during your stay, and your comments have been shared with our entire housekeeping staff. Our housekeepers strive for excellence and your observations are taken very seriously. We have also shared your comments with our tavern chefs. Room service should be as satisfactory as dining in the tavern itself, and it usually is. We apologize for not meeting your expectations. Your stay should be perfect in every way.
We hope you will give us another try in the future!

Have not been since March 2013 and am counting down the days until our next visit April 2014. Harraseeket Inn never ever disappoints. This will be our 9th visit and everything from check in to check out is wonderful. The best thing about the Harraseeket is the consistency - you never have to wonder always excellent. The staff is exeptional - Penny (front desk) Celeste (breakfast wait staff) and Emily (dinner wait staff) are a few of the staff that makes the Inn exceptional and keeps us coming back. Do miss Mr. Cooper and hope he is doing well.

Thank you for your review! We're very lucky to have such great staff here at the Harraseeket Inn. Penny, Celeste and Emily are three valued members of our extended family, and they exemplify the motto, "Ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen". Mr. Cooper, the wonderful gentleman who for years hosted our afternoon tea, is still at Hill House in West Bath following a bad fall last year. He is doing well and we're still hopeful he will return home. We miss him.
We look forward to seeing you again in April!

We return to this beautiful inn several times a year and have experienced it in all seasons. The atmosphere, rooms, suites, beds, food (in both restaurants) and location are wonderful. This inn is appropriate for couples young and old as well as families. It is pet friendly with pets permitted to stay in one of the buildings where the accomodations for the 2 legged guests are just as wonderful as in the main part of the inn. Four legged guests are pampered, too! You will not be disappointed when you stay here!

My boyfriend and I recently visited the Harraseeket Inn for a much needed long weekend getaway and were so happy with our choice! We booked the Steal Away Deluxe package which included " three nights lodging, dinner for two: one night in the Maine Dining Room and one night at the Broad Arrow Tavern, full buffet breakfast each morning, and afternoon tea each day...and comes complete with a fireplace and Jacuzzi." There was also a bottle of wine and a fruit and cheese selection waiting in our room. This package was an unbelieveable value! Before planning this trip I did an exhaustive search of hundred's of B&B's and Inns in New England and could not find one single package that could complete with it.

We opted to forgo the deluxe King room because we wanted to have a jacuzzi bath in the bedroom so we chose a queen deluxe room in the carriage house that had that option instead (the king rooms have jacuzzi's but they are in the bathroom), and we absolutely loved our room! It was quaint and cozy and perfect for the two of us. I really enjoyed taking bubblebath's with the warm glow of the fire. The fireplace was wonderful and they had it all set up for us when we got there, all we had to do was strike the match! The bed and pillows were so comfortable and the sheets were luxurious.

We had dinner the first night in the Main Harvest Dining room, and I have never had better service in my life! Carlos, our waiter treated us like royalty and really made the night memorable. He was attentive and helpful without being obtrusive and he was knowledgable and friendly. I cannot speak highly enough of his service, and I can honestly say that in over 15 years of travel and dining out I have never been treated better. My boyfriend could not stop talking about it all weekend and we have both decided that we will make many trips back to relive that experience.

The food was amazing as well and there are NO RESTRICTIONS with the prepaid meal package which is very rare. We had the Chateaubriand and it was amazing! So moist and tender it practically melts in your mouth accompianied by a beautifull assortment of seasonal vegetables. It was served tableside which was a nice treat and everything about the dinner was perfect.

We really enjoyed the Tavern as well, the ribs were amazing as was the spinach dip and the drinks. However, the service was not exceptional. It was busy both nights we ate there so I expected the food to take a while, but both of the waitresses we had really only came to our table once to take our order and then to drop off food. We weren't able to get drink refills or anything else. Like I said, they were really busy, so I didn't really hold it against them very much, but considering the excellent service we had in the Maine Dining Room, it was a little disappointing.
The breakfast buffet was delicious as well. The vegetable frittata was perfect and there was a wonderful selection. The freshly squeezed orange juice was outstanding! It tasted like sunshine in a glass. The tea was also nice, although when we got there it was a little too crowded for our tastes, but that only goes to show how popular it is!

Overall, it was a perfect getaway! The shops are a short walk, the staff we all friendly and helpful and the experience was relaxing and romantic. I had a wonderful time at the Harraseeket Inn and I would highly reccomend it to everyone. We will go back there again and again.

Room Tip: Get a fireplace/jacuzzi room, it is so worth it. Eat at the Maine Harvest Dining Room, and ask for C...

Wow, what a great review. Thank you from all of us here at the Harraseeket Inn, you made our day! Carlos is an exceptional waiter, he's been with us for so long that I can't imagine the Maine Harvest Dning Room without him. I apologize for your less than perfect service in the Broad Arrow Tavern. Yes, the tavern does get very busy but you should not have felt neglected. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thank you for posting this review, and we hope to see you again soon!
