“Touring up the coast to see Fall Foliage”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

US 1 is a nice quieter route than all others and some of the views have been spectacular. Plenty of places to stop en route to either visit or just grab a quick bite.

“Maine visit with friends”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

If you want to get somewhere fast, don't take the scenic 1 highway. This is for those who want to take a liesure drive and see many interesting and beautiful scenery along the way.

“Too many leafpeepers sticking to the coast and not going inland.”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Well, I was a leafpeeper, too, but I couldn't believe how many people were on Route 1 mid-week after Columbus Day weekend! And I wondered why there weren't more people in inland areas of Maine, which was also beautiful!

“Can't Get from Here to There!!!”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Love that about Maine comings and goings whatever part of the coast you're on. Still clean with plenty of rest stops along the way!

“Good way to see all the little towns.”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Didn't like catching rush hour. But a nice leisurely way to see the coast. Especially the history of some of the towns. Most have museums, or activities going on throughout the summer. We'll drive from Portland all the way to Calais, checking out the food, scenery and museums.
