“Charming, intimate atmosphere recommended for date night.”
Reviewed October 12, 2010

Was looking for a cozy spot to share a two year anniversary toast and appetizer while visiting Freeport. Conundrum was recommended and, although a bit out of the way from the center of town, it was just right. We received friendly, attentive table service in the bar. I was offered tastings from the wine menu before deciding on a delicious red blend. My sweetie is a margarita fan and we both were impressed by his. We shared a crab cake appetizer; not the best, but quite good.

If it wasn't for being expected by friends elsewhere, we would have easily succumbed to one of the inviting indoor or outdoor (enclosed patio) fireside seats. If we get back to Freeport, would certainly return to try dinner.

“unsatisfied”
Reviewed September 8, 2010

We had a group gathering that had been scheduled weeks ahead of time that numbered about 22. Mr. Vinny felt it necessary to assign only one waiter to our group for both drinks and dinner. Needless to say even though the rest of the staff tried to help it was not a smooth service. Our server worked his butt off and did the best he could by himself, mr. vinny, was no where to be seen. Realizing it was not the wait's fault he was tipped out quite generously, but mr. vinny was not , which I would normally do. We had dined their previously and the food was outstanding, but mr. vinny couldn't pull off I large group seating .

“Hip and Trendy spot, especially for Maine!”
Reviewed August 27, 2010

Stopped here for drinks and an appetizer. The place is a very cool little bistro setting. My wife's Martini was excellent. I had a Mojito that was adequate, although we are a long way from Florida. The wine selection looked impressive. We got a cheese plate that was amazing. It came with fresh grilled bread, crackers, walnuts, grapes, and a very delicious French cheese. We did not have anything else but the entrees sure looked good.

“Outdoor area superb!”
Reviewed June 26, 2010

My boyfriend and I recently went to Conundrum in Freeport and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. We sat out on the deck were they had several jotul gas stoves and nice atmosphere with couches. The menu was small but we each found something we wanted to try right off. Our server was prompt and our martinis were to die for. Very good! Freeport's best kept secret!!!

“Cuddle up at Conundrum”
Reviewed November 19, 2009

When you are ready to relax after a grueling day of shopping, grab your honey and cuddle up at Conundrum. The wine bar has an huge list of interesting selections by the glass as well as by varying size bottles. The menu is eclectic, with options from sandwiches to cheese plates to soups, entrees and desserts. It was a bit challenging to compose a multi-course meal that provided variety without excessive quantity. The atmosphere was cosy and service warm and good---with some lapses due to a large party in another room. Overall satisfying and perhaps the most interesting choice in Freeport.
