“More than Lobster”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013

We were skeptical of this restaurant, thinking it only had lobster because of its name "Lobster Pot", but after looking at the on-line menu, we saw that it had a range of seafood items. For the entrée, you pick a seafood and then can choose one of 4 different ways to have it prepared. I had the blueberry crusted salmon and it was fabulous! We were seated on the big enclosed porch overlooking the Union River where tables were situated so you don't feel on top of other diners. Our waiter, a young college student, was very courteous and was well trained to wait tables. Pricing was normal for this type of meal. For two of us it was $52 before tip, and that included a drink each but no dessert.

“very disappointing meal”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

I had the clam slam, clam chowder containing not whole clams but clam strips similar to what you would find in canned chowder and had it too much seasoning, thyme I believe, clam cakes which were doughy and tasteless, and fried clams which were greasy. The service was excellent but couldn't make up for the quality of the food.

“Great Food, but”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

This seems to be the place to go for great seafood out side of Bar Harbor. Meals were perfectly done, great lobster stew, good size portions on everything else. But, we arrived early and were seated right away, but with in 15 minutes of our arrival, all seats were filled and the line began to form. At that point every dish was coming to the table before we were finished with the previous dish. Even the bill was brought before desert was finished. In other words, with out saying 'would you please eat faster', they had their way of rushing you to turn tables around faster.
Again, great food but overall a poor dining experience

“Food just okay, comfortable restaurant, excellent wait staff.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

Food just okay, comfortable restaurant, excellent wait staff. Fried clams very good, though a bit lacking in earthy clam flavor. Lobster soup very good, with flavorful juices and no thickeners. Lobster pie was a big disappointment: portion was meagre, and instead of a pie crust, the lobster was just oven-baked with some bread crumbs on top - resulting in the lobster being overcooked. Salads were standard. The blueberry pie was awful. It was blueberry season, yet this filling tasted canned, and it was over-sweetened and thickened to the point of gumminess. The crust was not good: it was too thick, and tasted like a commercial product. The seating was so nice and comfortable, though. The staff were all very professional and pleasant. Beer and wine by the glass were reasonable and there were good selections. Pricing was fair enough. I would not return except maybe to have a beer and plate of fried clams.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

So we thought since this restaurant was off the beaten path we thought we had found a gem, but not so. Too long of a wait for overpriced food.
