“Mmmmmm....good.”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

Warm, comfortable little restaurant with a great selection of Mediterranean food. Lunch has a lot of sandwich and soups offered- with great fresh ingredients, dinner menu offers more substantial meals- with more than a few vegetarian dishes. Well worth stopping in Ellsworth for lunch or dinner. Any one I have sent here has given me positive feed back, it's just a nice place.

“Great food and people!!!!!”
Reviewed May 17, 2014

I was extremely pleased with my visit at Cleonice. The staff was friendly and polite and our food was absolutely delicious. Great value for the price, our food was flavorful and there were so many options! Cleonice and the Maine Grind are one of the cutest cafes I have been in, definitely a gem in the downtown Ellsworth scene!

“Great Food...Great Service..Great Prices”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

When we are in Ellsworth, we most often dine at this restaurant. The title tells it all. They have a great variety of foods. I really enjoy their lamb burger and their haddock offers. They have vegetarian items and great soups and pizza. They recently added a Sunday Brunch and have great omelets and blueberry pancakes. We enjoy the service of Chanel very much. She is very efficient and keeps close eye on her guests for their needs. Looking forward to our next return. Also, for those that are not aware, they are now (have been for a while) a part of the Maine Grind.

“Marvelous !”
Reviewed May 7, 2014

The cafe lounge and restaurant offer great decor, furnishings, audio, and staff that are the equal of any such place in a big city. Nicely, the seating is pleasantly less crowded than common in similar urban locales. The staff are just excellent. The menu is varied and after two lunches and town dinners my wife, aunt, and I have tried quite a number of the appetizers, entrees, and desserts. ALL have been marvelous and the wind offerings are equally good.
A real treasure that we consider well worth the one hour drive we need to make to reach Cleonice.

“An Ellsworth Jewel”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

My wife and I have lunch in Cleo almost every Friday. The food is always creative and excellent, all made from scratch, of course, the waitstaff (especially Eliza) very knowledgable, attentive and helpful. Chef Rich Hansen and his wife and co-proprietor, Carey, are always on premises. Favorites for lunch? Any of the soups, fish entrees, pizza or deli sandwiches.

We've attended several special Sunday night "wine dinner" events ( The Big Night is an annual favorite) and last winter's Monday night cooking classes. All unique to small town Maine.

Sure, the previous location had a more intimate feel, but the new one offers more opportunities (cooking classes, an open kitchen, breakfast, take out, to name a few) - and it's keeping this Ellsworth jewel alive.
