“Three Years New”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012

After experiencing the cleanliness of the hotel and the lack of wear and tear I assumed the hotel was fairly new. It turned 3 years old in May. The location is fine....only a 20 minute drive to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. It is also a good starting point for travels to other secenic areas such as Schoodic National Scenic Byway. The price is reflective of the season, high season brings increased prices.
However, with the extensive breakfast provided in the price, it brings down the room price as you do not have to go out and pay for breakfast. There are different types of eggs and sausage/bacon each morning along with waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and muffins. There is coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available 24 hours with cookies in the afternoon.
The room itself and the bathroom were good size and clean.
There are many good restaurants in the area, just ask the hospitable staff and they will recommend them.....there is more than fast food in the area.

I recently stayed in a couple nights at this hotel while visiting Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. I knew it was far removed from the park, so I wasn't expecting amazing views... still, I was disappointed to look at my window to see McDonald's and a strip mall. If I was to book again, I would request a room in the back of the hotel.

The hotel itself is nice, you can tell it's a fairly new building. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. On our last night, our room motor on the A/C unit was very loud. If it wasn't our last night there, I would have called to see if we could be moved. The free breakfast is decent - there's enough choices that everyone should be able to find something to eat (cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, fresh waffles, eggs, bagels, muffins, bacon and fresh fruit).

I probably won't be back simply because of the cost, I paid $80 more a night than I do at most Hampton Inns. Depending on what part of Acadia you plan on visiting, it's a 30-45 minute ride from the hotel without traffic. There's also not a lot of food choices nearby unless you like fast food (you're within a few blocks of McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, Denny's and Burger King).

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back of the hotel (the front of the hotel faces a strip mall). The rooms on th...

I was told that the hotel was about 3 years old. It looked so fresh and clean, I thought it must be newer. Everything about it was great except the price which seemed much higher than what we paid in New Hampshire and Vermont. Of course it is close to Acadia National Park during August and they can charge what the maket will pay. The staff was very helpful and pleasant and the breakfast was great as it always is at a Hampton Inn.

Room Tip: I think any room would be great. We didn't hear a sound all night.

This was my favorite Hampton Inn! Our room was clean, quiet and spacious. The breakfast hostess was so nice, and her team kept the breakfast area clean and filled, and I loved the waffle maker. There were fresh baked cookies and coffee/tea setup in the late afternoon, which is very welcoming after a full day of hiking and sightseeing.

It wasn't our first visit to Acadia, and staying at the Hampton Inn in Ellsworth was so much nicer than the craziness of Bar Harbor. Schoodic, Southwest and Northeast Harbor are gems, so allot time for those areas. There are also great lobster places on the way from Acadia to the hotel, and Bangkok Restaurant was also a nice find. Enjoy!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 134, which was at the end of the first floor, away from the pool.

It started out great because we arrived in Maine at 1:00pm and our room was ready to check in to. It was clean and very large for a Hampton Inn. I love that the room only had a shower with plenty of hot water. We went out to sightsee and lunch and came back to the hotel to sit in the jacuzzi before dinner and the pool area was locked and no one could be found to find out why, oh well nap instead. The hostess for breakfast was so friendly and brought us the mints and asked if there was anything we needed for our day. The only downfall to this property is that the front desk is not very friendly...they need to take lessons from the breakfast hostess

We were once again pleased with our Hampton inn stay. It is hard for me to stay anywhere besides Hampton. The staff was wonderful. The people who prepared our breakfast were so friendly and helpful. We were offered mints to take with us each day. The laundry facility was very clean. The work out room has lots of options.

This is a nice Hampton Inn. Well kept, clean rooms and friendly staff. The rooms are fairly typical Hampton Inn rooms except that the mini fridge was larger than usual and even had a small freezer section plus we had a microwave. This made it easy to keep some snacks in the room and to reheat foods. Breakfast was quite good. Each day they offered something different, from cheese omelets, to western omelets, to scrambled eggs plus a different meat (canadian bacon, polish sausage, bacon etc). The oatmeal was really good too. When we returned after an actve day out we were greeted with freshly baked cookies and coffee, tea or hot chocolate and a fire in the fireplace. There are several supermarkets and restaurants nearby and a Walgreens on the corner. The LL Bean Factory outlet is just a few doors down. Acacia national park and Bar Harbor downtown are approximately 20 minutes away. Overall we had a pleasant stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
