Had coffee and bagels this morning. Staff was friendly, food was good. Prices were reasonable for a coffee shop. Overall a good place for coffee and bagels.

We just wanted some eggs and an English muffin. Rudeness right from the beginning. So impressed with themselves and totally lacking in customer service. We ordered one Lubec and one Penobscot. No wraps please. We sat where we could see the cooking area. Piles of fry pans. Only order was ours. 15 minutes later nothing. Finally delivered to our table - two Wraps. No wraps. No wraps. We didn't want wraps. Scraped eggs out of wrap. Tiny, tiny portion. Asked about English muffin - delivered to table dry without butter or jelly. Asked for butter and jelly. Hubby (retired military) asked for ketchup. After much ado - told they did not have any ketchup. This was the worst on our two week vacation. Get over yourselves. Lousy all around.

The Maine Grind is an important place if you're that far north: (1) Internet cafe, (2) in the evenings, lovely sit-down restaurant with table service, (3) sales outlet for local crafters. It does all three things well. I went basically for Internet access (staying with friends who didn't have it at their home). good coffee and the occasional snack. Staff are extremely nice and caring. Just a great place.

This is a cute place and the coffee is good, but the service is bad, the baked goods are terrible and the cleanliness is questionable. I bought a couple of coffees, a strawberry smoothie, and a couple of baked goods to go. There were not many customers at 3:30 on a Monday, but there seemed to be plenty of employees.

There were dirty dishes on the tables outside and inside. Service was very slow and the staff was unfriendly. The raspberry chocolate chip muffin was dried out, heavy and inedible. Even my kids, who will eat anything laced with sugar, would barely eat the chocolate chip cookie, it was dry and just not very good. The strawberry smoothie tasted very sour and tart like maybe they had forgotten something. BUT, both coffee's were very good.

This is a cute place and looks like it has potential. Maybe it's better at peak times when it's more crowded and items are fresh, but I can't imagine how slow the service would be then.

A great place to meet friends over a wonderful cup of coffee. Quiet, small town feel in the heart of Ellsworth.
