“Can't wait to go back! What a Treasure!”

My partner and daughter and I recently stayed at the Sheepscot Resort and it was fantastic! Gorgeous location and views! We enjoyed biking around the grounds and going for walks and just chilaxing in the gorgeous locale. We loved the Chandler cottage but needed a stove to cook our own lobsters so after 2 days in this awesome cottage, we were upgraded to a larger unit at no extra cost. That was sweet. We bought lobster from a local marina just up the street and totally loved the whole experience. Next time we go back we will return to the Chandler and just bring a hot plate and lobster pot. It was really the best cottage there in our hearts. It was wonderful that the place was pet friendly and the extra room of a cottage served our needs really well. We also loved Boothbay and Damariscota. If you get the chance to visit Port Clyde a little north it's well worth the trip for the small fishing town feel and quaint, cozy charm. If you want Bar Harbor and Acadia keep in mind it's NOT a day trip and plan to spend the night because it took us over 4 hours each way. *(We thougth it was only 2 hours and that's why we are giving you all the heads up). Bottom line, the Sheepscot Resort was well worth the trip and money and we can't wait to go back!

We visited Sheepscot Harbour in Oct. 2008. We were renting a place about 20 miles away for the month of October and were driving around one day and happened to come across Sheepscot Harbour. We fell in love with the area and especially the gorgeous views.

Roger Bintliff was wonderful to work with. We felt no pressure to buy. He showed us the cottages and we ended up buying our favorite. We feel that we got a wonderful deal --- this is a great time to buy real estate. We spent a month there this winter and loved the snow. Our road was plowed constantly and we never had any trouble getting out and about. The cottages are wonderfully maintained and so warm and toasty in the winter.

I can't say enough about Sheepscot Harbour and all the people connected to it. We can't wait to spend a couple of months there this summer.

My wife and son (13) and I have traveled to the Boothbay Harbor region often in past 10 years. We usually stay at the Cod Cove Inn, a prettified motel up the road from Sheepscot. This year we wanted more space than a motel room provides and though we have bypassed Sheepscot Harbor on more than one occasion, we were intriqued by a developer's redo of its inn and cabins and so we booked it sight unseen. An especially good weekly rate ($1200) for a newly built 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage made it especially attractive. The "resort" as it is now called (the indoor pool is still a work in progress) sits directly across the river from the New Englandy village of Wiscasset. making for both a plus and minus for the resort. The plus is that you look out on the Sheepscot River. The downside is that you hear the bridge traffic from the very trafficated bridge between Wiscasset and Edgecomb. The cabin we shared was nothing short of beautiful. A gorgeous master bedroom with a cushy king sized bed had a small but modern bathroom attached featuring an oversized shower made with real polished stones. The living room was well furnished and a 37 in plasma TV was hung over the fireplace. A dining room table and chairs graced a corner of the living room. In- wall air conditioners were in the master bedroom and living room. The kitchen was small but held high end appliances, In fact, the whole cabin, which included a large screened in porch with lovely furniture, was high end. And for more luxury, the price included daily housekeeping, a given in hotels but rare in cabin rentals. Though the cabin is not large, we never felt claustrophobic, probably because it has many windows and the large porch. Included in our rate were coupons each day for a breakfast/brunch at the on property restaurant for two adults. The restaurant menu had good choices for either breakfast or lunch and the food was upscale. The property, with tall trees, and a slope towards the river was quite pleasant, and features a long dock into the river for great views. There were two guest bicycles above the dock. Though not a true resort -but with these surroundings and comfort, who cares? New cabins, like ours, are individually decorated and owned. But the 1920 cabins were redone with great class, and from what we saw, the new Inn rooms and new Lodge rooms are also quite nice. Our bargain rate was partly due to the resort's newness, I'm sure, but if you are visiting the Boothbay Region, it is definitely worth a look.

Touring the Maine coast we had three B & B's, one was full, one looked bad and no-one at home at the third. We passed this Resort, but it looked like timeshare (which it is) and expensive. Eventually we notice they offered nightly accommodation.
We were givena non-water view room for $109 plus tax (very reasomable).
Our room - number 311 - was delightful, beaitifilly furnished witj queen bed, tv, fridge and microwave. The room had extras makimg it special. It also had a tiny balcony from which the water was just visible.
Coffee is available at all times - in the office when open or in the lobby when the office is shut. We were also given a voucher for brunch at the restaurant.
The resort seems to be still being developed with a lot of the garden still needing landscaping.

We had rented a vacation property weeks in advance. Arrived with dogs, rods and luggage only to be totally disappointed and desperate to salvage our long awaited vacation. A realtor told us to visit the Sheepscot Harbour Resort. Wow. Not only did they accept our K9 pals but they gave us a 20% discount for our sad story. The units, which are actually condos, were either on the shore (10 feet from the water) or a fw hundred feet back. If these were hotel rooms they'd have been $250 to $500 a night. Their rates are half and they throw in perks. First class, comfortable, sweet people to deal with and very laid back feeling on a porch with the ocean breeze. I checked my email twice a day in the lobby (no complete rest for the self-employed) and overheard folks heaping praise as they checked out and some even made reservation for 2009 - same dates, same unit. We ate brunch everyday at Bintliff's restaurant which is right there. Lobster eggs benedicts - never had it before but I'll sure have it again. These folks turned a disaster into a kind of Maine magic carpet ride. We're from Maine and usually travel to the Southwest for vacations but Sheepscot is definitely our main & Maine getaway from now on. No airfare or days in hectic travel really sweetens the pot. So highly recommended. We had a great time!

  • Liked — Superb value and location by ocean
  • Disliked — A little too close to Route 1 but sound completely block out when inside

I stayed at the Sheepscot Harbour Village this past weekend with my mother and grandmother on a trip to Maine. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage that couldn't have been cuter and allowed us a lot more room then a hotel. The front desk staff at the hotel was very helpful and made the stay great. As a bonus, the property didn't require us to book the cottage for a whole week which was great. The room also included vouchers for breakfast in the resorts restaurant. The food was amazing but we were there over the weekend so the wait for a table was a bit much. They did their best to keep us full on coffee while we waited and the great food made it well worth it. I should mention that the resort is just off a well traveled two-lane road that goes to Boothbay. Although we didn't hear any traffic while we were in our cottage you can see the bridge from the resort grounds because it is very close to the road.

  • Liked — The rooms were adorable, it was right on the water, breakfast was great, great value.
  • Disliked — The view was of a bridge on one end of the river and a power plant on the other. At litte too accesiable to the highway.
