The Waco Diner in Eastport is the oldest restaurant in Maine, in 1924' it was originally a lunch wagon, the original owners, Nelson A. Watts , (WA) and Ralph T. Colwell (CO) combined the first two letters of their last names to form the name, WACO.
At one time the Waco was "THE" place to eat in Eastport and if you wanted to know anything about what was going on in town, the Waco was the place to be.
It is at present, closed but has been purchased and is now being renovated , hopefully to be opened in the very near future.
