Eastport people are so nice! Had a bunch of appetizers for a shared meal one night. Another night tried some of the Greek dishes. No complaints.

Visiting Maine for two weeks we'd had so much lobster and wanted to vary it up. We had delicious tatziki, a Gyro and some great Greek wine. Sit out back at the terrasse if the weather is nice.

My husband and I own a vacation home in Eastport and enjoy going out for a meal a couple of times when we are there. We have been to the Liberty Cafe a few times since it opened about three years ago. The food is always good, but the service is very slow. This is baffling to us since we have chosen to go when it's quiet. This last visit there were only three tables occupied so we knew the kitchen was not overwhelmed with orders and we didn't think it was a stretch for one waitress to handle three tables -- two of which only had two people at them. That aside, we ordered the "triple dip" as an appetizer that included homemade hummus, eggplant dip, and taziki with pita. Each of us ordered a salad as our main meal ... one Greek Salad and one Caprese Salad. All the food was delicious, fresh and flavorful and was more than enough for both of us. In fact, we brought home leftover "triple dip". My advice would be to go with patience because it will certainly take longer than you expect, but know that it will be worth the wait if you're looking for fresh food in a small town.

My husband and I ate here on the recommendation of an Eastport shopkeeper. Although only a few tables were occupied, service was so incredibly slow that we nearly left. This place touts itself as being run by a Greek chef from a family of Greek restauranteurs. We therefore ordered a Greek combination plate to share, which should have been ideal for us. The moussaka was fresh and excellent, but the dried-out spanakopita and gyros meat had to have spent several days in the refrigerator, neglected for good reason. The pita bread was of poor quality. And so on. The only good part of our too-long time spent there, besides the moussaka, was the water view. But there are lots of great water views in this town, so you might try another place for lunch.

Great food, great people running the Liberty Cafe and a place I'd go back to again and again...and have every time I visit Eastport.
