“Great East coast food and things for the non-fish eaters too.”

I had crab cakes which were very good, and my husband, who doesn't like fish had a wonderful chicken parmesan. It looked very good.

“A great meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

It was a foggy, rainy night, but our company was wonderful, the service was good, and the meal was exceptional. I had the Cajun Prime Rib, and savored every mouthful. For dessert three of us shared a piece of "Mile-High Carrot Cake." It was heavenly -- four layers, moist and delicious, and more than enough for three after our generous main courses. Service was prompt despite several large parties (including one 25-member group), and the rain had stopped by the time we left at 9:00. They have a wide-ranging menu of seafood and traditional items, a variety to please every palate.

“Beautiful View”

Great for seafood! Right on the bay. Prices are good. Their blacken scallops are delicious as well as the seafood chowder.

“Seafood Bliss”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

The food was exceptional! Well priced and so delicious! I was there for the Pirate Festival and ended up at the Chowder House twice, both times were great. Service was a bit slow, but then it was super busy and the staff was amazingly friendly, so all was good. They were prompt with the beverages, so it didn't matter if the food took a bit longer. The Seafood Chowder was so good and so full of all manner of goodness! No comparison to anywhere I've been. The lobster special was for 2 lobsters! They were so fresh and sweet that there was no need for butter! And the fried Maine Shrimp was a great appetizer for the table. Definitely someplace I will go again, when I come back to visit!

“Help Needed!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

Restaurant recommended as "best lobster in town". Eastern most city in United States. Look out window and view lobster being unloaded. Wouldn't you think you should have the best lobster?? We expected wonderful, fresh lobster and reasonably priced -but very disappointed. Lobster unseasoned, undercooked, slimy and expensive for what the lobster fishers are receiving.

Also, cleanliness is very under question!! Order a draught beer - something floating in glass. Ooops - the built up scum from tap had fallen out in circular form and floating in my glass. Server did give us our beer. Bill still $70 for two of us.
