During my second trip to Bali I had stayed at this wonderful holistic resort, though I still have yet to submit my review for the resort. I was so satisfied and over the moon with the food at their Sakti Dining Room, that when I had booked my third Bali vacation I knew I would go back to the Sakti Dining Room even though I was not staying at the resort (and the only reason is because I like to try different resorts). Back to the holistic cuisine at Five Elements; the food is absolutely amazing – I am not vegan nor vegetarian, but eating at the Sakti Dining Room, I have realized I want to be vegetarian and possible raw vegan in the future. I have never, ever tasted food as good and as beautiful, healthy and unique. Their motto is “Let thy food be thy medicine, and thy medicine thy food” and I love it how everything you will and get here perfectly matches the motto. It makes you feel good about yourself, your environment and well being of this world. During my second stay in Bali, I thought I would of just eaten the breakfast I paid for..for my whole stay at the resort, but the food really was so fantastic, I ate all my meals there. And then upon my return to Bali/Ubud and while staying at another resort, I had to come back to Sakti to have it again. The prices are definitely not bad for the type of food you are getting.
Sakti Dining Room is located at Five Elements Holistic Resort in Mambal and if not staying there, you will have to book a taxi or transportation to get there. It is about 25 minutes away from Ubud by car. The resort can book you a taxi, or use their driver to drive you back to Ubud, however, the price for transportation is quite high, as the location of the Resort is quite far out.
Thus I will recommend my driver, whom I always book when coming to Bali. I use him for my airport transfer to the hotel, for my tours and for daily driving, such as taking me to Sakti Dining Room.
He is very reputable and I have already used him on two of my trips to Bali (had I known about him during my first trip to Bali in 2007, I would have definitely booked him as well).
He works for a company which I found online and booked on line. At first I only booked the company for my transfer from Bali to Ubud, but I was so happy with my driver whose name is IKetut Suartana that I booked him for all of my other days of touring and my airport transfer to and from Ubud. This was on two of my three trips to Bali. IKetut speaks a lot of English and was so kind and knowledgeable. He is not a tourguide so I didn't pay extra for one, only a driver but he I was so happy with him, his flexibility to our requests. He is way cheaper than I got quoted by tour agencies, as well as other drivers I had emailed before coming to Bali. I totally recommend IKetut and will definitely book him when I come back to Bali. If you want to book IKetut you can phone him or sms him at +6282147140702 (You can mention you got the number from Kate and Shelley in Korea). Unfortunately, he does not have an email account as of yet, but his daughter will try to set it up for him in the future. For now, sms or phone call is best.
