We just finished our second trip to this lovely spot with great views of the ocean from most rooms.
It's a few miles out of town, away from the hustle and bustle of Boothbay Harbor, and allows us to listen to the seabirds and the tide. No beach (this is, after all, midcoast Maine!) but a nice pool to enjoy. There is a small beach 1 mile down the road. The upgraded breakfast buffet ($7) is plentiful and will satisfy even the largest appetite. I enjoyed the homemade blueberry and raspberry muffins.
The reservations folks on the phone were attentive to our needs and found us the right sized rooms for our family.

Room Tip: Second floor above the inn gets you a queen or king sized bed and a large picture window looking dir...

We again visited Ocean point, our 3rd time! Rooms are nice and clean - not smelly at all. Food in the restaurant is good. Breakfast upgrade to hot buffet is worth the $7. Most of the staff is very nice and friendly (sour- pussed waitress is still there and still unfriendly). Tv's in rooms have been upgraded to flat screens - nice to see, not that we spent much time in the room, as there are many outdoor activities around the area. Looking forward to going back next year - hopefully for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Rooms in Hatchard House with king size bed/ocean view are the nicest. We stood in queen size bed roo...

My husband and I always spend an extended long weekend in August at OPI to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This coastal Maine inn is a quintessential New England property. It offers a variety of accommodations from motel rooms to rooms with porches and vacation cottages. Guests can enjoy the outdoor heated pool and hot tub since the water in Linekin Bay is quite chilly and only for those who are looking for a quick brisk swim.

Looking out onto the bay and Negro Island guests can sit along the sea wall in wooden adirondack chairs enjoying the view, reading a book or watching lobstermen checking their traps. We always stay at Seawinds on the second floor and were delighted with the recent update to the room. The king-size bed was very comfortable and the linens were of high quality. The new color scape of the room was soothing and the room's appointments were lovely. The Inn is under new management and long term plans include renovation of all rooms.

Dining options vary according to the day of the week. A continental breakfast with seating in the bar/lounge and full buffet breakfast in the dining room are offered daily. On most days in the evenings a full dinner and pub menus with New England specialties are offered. The other evenings only the pub menu is available. Many scrumptious desserts, i.e. blueberry pie, deep dish raspberry pie, and peach/raspberry crisps are prepared by Michelle the bartender. We dine at the inn every evening because we enjoy the food, the spectacular sunsets and the warm hospitality of the staff.

Walks along the shore road, visits to the botanical garden, local lighthouses, and picturesque shore towns are all activities to be enjoyed during a stay at OPI. Anyone looking for a quiet out of the way place where serenity reigns will love this inn.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms offer the best views. However you will have to climb stairs as there are no eleva...

We found Ocean Point in an ad in our local paper as we were looking for an alternative to the busy NJ coast. We deciced that this location offered us what we were looking for, peace and quiet and the ocean at the door. Many of our friends have also found the area a great vacation spot. We have been coming here for 20+ years and have made many friends and visit them each time we arrive. As an artist I have taken pictures and painted many locations along the coast. I have gotten acquainted with two local artists who critique my work and help me develop my skills. We will continue to vacation here as long as we can make the trip from NJ.

Room Tip: Not a bad room in the location. Most rooms have an ocean view.

Found the Ocean Point Inn online through "Visit Maine website" called after reviewing other reviews of inns, B&B's, hotels etc. After talking with the Inn keeper and all the suggestions offered over the phone (might add not all were about the Inn itself) I made the choice to go to the Ocean Point Inn. Will never regret it,(the rooms were very clean a little outdated in some but filled our needs-beds were comfortable) it was all that it states in their advertisments, the staff was fabulouse, the food outstanding at the Inn, the area was all I was hoping for in a East coast expierence. The lobster was plentyfull and we ate it everyday sometimes twice. The coast line was beautiful as was everyone we meant. Will most definitley return and will share our 5star expierence with anyone interested in going to Maine.

Room Tip: I would suggest the lodge - did not use pool (stayed 9/15/12 thru 9/17/12) sunny but cool however we...

My husband and I returned to Ocean Point Inn for vacation along with family members. Their first impression was the same as we experienced forty years ago ... fell in love with the beautiful inn by the sea and found Peace on Earth. Everything you need is at Ocean Point ... breakfast, lunch and dinner along with the beauty of the Maine Coast. Looking for a nice walk, this area offers a lovely walk along the water where you find cottages that have been there for century.

Room Tip: The Lodge affords you a view of the water and all the activity on the pier.

Ocean Point is one of the most beautiful communities on the east coast. We “discovered” Ocean Point many years ago and it hasn’t changed. The homes are well kept and the scenery is spectacular. This was our first stay at the Ocean Point Inn. We spent 3 nights in an old room in the main inn. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and our view from the windows was fabulous. The floor under the carpet was not level & the ceiling had many patches. The wall paper was dated but clean. The pictures on the wall made the room feel very cozy. The heat and A/C worked fine, but why bother when you can open the windows and hear the surf and fog horns in the distance. The only real negatives were a street light across the road and you could hear the diners in the restaurant until about 10 PM. It is old, but well maintained.

I read several reviews that complained about spending $7 per person to get a full breakfast buffet. We had 3 breakfasts during our stay. They were all excellent, varied and well worth the $7. The view from the dining room is great and the service was excellent. You could eat all that you want and we never felt rushed.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we invited our daughter to join us. We took advantage of a coupon in the “Green coupon book” that you get at rest areas. Her rate was in the area of $60.

Even though this is a very old inn, I am rating it excellent. The scenery, staff and food all provided for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We will stay here again.
