We needed a place to stay as a staging point during our hunt for property in Central Maine. We were delighted with the room and the home. The innkeepers Mark and Judith are delightful hosts. They were attentive to all our needs. Mark's enthusiasm for the home and the town is inspiring. We look forward to returning many times as we work on our new home in Dexter.

Snowmobiling in Maine is a sport my wife and I have been doing for a number of years. There is nothing like coming back to a warm cozy room after a day on the trails. We have stayed at the Inn 8 nights since we discovered this gem in the middle of Maine. The rooms are clean and comfortable, The Inn makes you feel like you have traveled back into time when things were less hectic. The last trip we took we invited another couple to stay with us and we were treated with warmth and friendly hospitality. We all enjoyed the fireplace chat with the Inn Keepers, they have an extensive wine and beer list that would satisfy most peoples taste. The breakfast in the morning was also a treat, if your lucky you will get the ''CranberryApple Bake'' or the ''Blueberry french toast''. My wife still talks about it. Tty this Inn if you are in the area, ''You Will Like It''. Vinny Marconi Portsmouth NH

My finance and I decided to go away for a couple days over February school vacation (I teach at a middle school), just to get away. We found the Brewster Inn online and my fiance remembered seeing them featured on the HGTV series, "If Walls Could Talk", so we decided to go check them out. It was our first time at a B&B, and I can't imagine a better "first time" experience. The feel of the inn was so cozy, yet also elegant and fancy. Mark and Judith, the innkeepers, did a wonderful job accomodating all our needs, as well as making excellent recommendations for dinner in the area. The best part was chatting with them about the history of the house, it was so interesting. We stayed in the Truman room, which is where Harry Truman would stay during his visits to ME. History buffs would love this place! While there wasn't much to do in Dexter during the winter, we were able to do some skiing at a small mountain about 45 minutes away, and as it is located right on a snowmobile path, it would be perfect for snowmobilers. We definitely plan to go back during the summer when we can do some hiking or kayaking, the scenery in Maine is beautiful. Highly recommend this Inn, such a cool experience.

While working in the Dexter area, we were booked at the Brewster Inn which is a historical property that actually used to be the Governor's Mansion at one time. The proprietors, Mark & Judith, were very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. It is a beautiful property that I would have loved to have seen in the summer instead of with 3 feet of snow on the ground. The area is loaded with snowmobile trails if you're looking for something like this. Judith made a wonderful breakfast each morning and our stay was very comfortable and homey. Our room was very comfortable and even had WiFi and cable TV with a private bath. We would definitely go back!

My wife and I recently celebrated our second anniversary at the Brewster Inn. We were looking for a place out of the way but not far away. We picked the Brewster because it had all the amenities we wanted, (ie fireplace, 2 person whirlpool, and old fashion charm) and was still well within budget, (similar rooms we looked out went for $300-500, this room was every bit as nice for less than half that. They also allow you to customize your stay by adding a romantic dinner for two, movies and popcorn, wine in the room etc. and you can do it all from their website. We made the mistake of not eating at the Inn, and regretted that decision terribly when we returned from dinner to smell what they were cooking for their other guests. We will be going back to correct that mistake in the not to distant future. Mark and Judith were fantastic hosts, they shared the history of the building with us and showed us the improvements they are making, and we look forward to going back to see all their plans bearing fruit, as they make the already amazing Brewster Inn even better.
