A lovely inn in a gorgeous setting with expansive lawns and lake views. We stayed in the cottage, which was ideal for me and my two sons (my wife, unfortunately was home sick, but she would have loved it too). The bed was luscious, and the space and amenities were lovely. Great shower & bathroom. Included breakfast was delicious. Dinner at the restaurant was fantastic, in a rustic sitting room w/fireplace just off the bar. Lots of very relaxing and well appointed sitting rooms, free wi-fi, and a guest computer made the place very livable. Would definitely stay again & can't wait to bring my wife here. Very friendly & helpful staff too.

Room Tip: We loved the cottage.

Stayed at this inn two nights in June. Beautiful inside and out! So peaceful to sit outside and read. The room was lovely and the restaurant fantastic!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 6 on 2nd floor. The upstairs gets warm very quickly so make sure the room ac is p...

Breakfasts are a standout.
We stayed in two different cottages and, there ain't no other way to say it, the beds are off the charts. Little warm at first (was in the high 80s when we were there) but it cooled down around midnight. I actually didn't want to look at what type of bed it was because I didn't want to go out and get one for home. This way, it's part of the Pilgrim's Inn experience.
Started out in Ginny Cottage Number two. Great. Loved the sound machine as the bedroom is close to the road. But, it's Deer Isle. No traffic after 9 pm. The partner loved the sun and the deck. Me, the breeze coming though the cottage and the great sofa.
Moved over to the Rugosa Rose Cottage. Be careful of the interior stairs. High gloss finish and if you like walking around in socks or flip-flops, it is really easy to slip. Other than that, an amazing little place. Deck looks out onto the water, living room is great. The bathroom upstairs is great. Great tile work and the shower is wonderful. The bed is orgasmic. I so want to spend a week in the late fall in that bed. With the windows wide open.
The staff is great, very helpful with suggestions as to what to see/do. Take a short walk back into town, turn right and try the coffee shop, "44 North". They do the roasting right there. Great coffee. And I'm a coffee snob.

Room Tip: It's all good. Cottages are the best

We have been going to Bar Harbor for years and I've always wanted to visit this area. We stayed at Pilgrims Inn for just 1 night. Wish we were there longer. What a nice inn.Beautifil property. The staff couldn't be nicer. We had a very large room(#9)on the 3rd floor. I was worried it would be a hot box. We never put on the ac. It had 4 windows and ceiling fan. Beautiful views of the bay.We ate dinner and breakfast at Whales Rib. The food was excellent. I hunted and found the recipe for their granola online. I hope mine is 1/2 as good as theirs! Yum! They gave plenty of tips about where to visit. We did the Barred Island hike.Lovely moss and fern hike to beautiful beach. You have to watch the tides to walk to the island. Also visited Castine, Stonington, Blue Hills, Sedgwick and Brooklin. Stopping in all of the towns. So many talented people in this area with galleries and shops selling their creations. We will definitly return.

Room Tip: My husband thought it was noisy with the cars going by. We could have closed the window and put on t...

We spent three nights at the Pilgrim's Inn and stayed in Room #5. What a treat! The Inn has just the right combination of historic charm blended with modern conveniences. The setting in Deer Isle is off the beaten path, but affords a taste of authentic Down East Maine. We made easy daytrips to Acadia National Park and Stonington. The Inn is very clean, spacious, and well appointed. The dinner at the Whale's Rib Restaurant ranked as one of the best during our 10 day stay in Maine.

We did not stay at the Inn but we had dinner twice at the Whale's Rib. The food was outstanding as was the bar and master bartender Henry. we had the pleasure of dining with both lobsterman and other locals. The Inn was full and guests were very pleased with their stay. The property is immaculate and is situated in such a way that there is water in the back and a cove out front with magnificent sunset views. Attention is paid to the smallest of details. Deer Isle is a gorgeous place- very remote and pretty much "off the grid". Great place to simply get lost in the natural beauty- water is everywhere, bay, ocean , coves and Stonington Harbor. Pilgrim's is an absolute must stop in that part of coastal Maine.

My wife's 60th birthday present was a trip to her birth state -- she'd never been back and I'd never been at all. Tina and Tony made our stay so much better than we'd expected; they even shipped some of our souvenirs home for us! Our room (#14) was very comfortable and well-appointed, and the food at the inn was amazing!! The location is out of the way, but that's what we were looking for. We're looking forward to going back!!!
