Sahaja Sawah Resort

Quiet relaxing villa hidden in the beautiful agricultural part of bali where you wake up to a sunny beautiful view of paddy field and go to bed with music of the nature.

Villa is not too shabby and well recommended for couples and families who just want a quiet place to stay in with good hospitality.

Do note that the place is rather inaccessible and travel time to and fro from seaside or watersport areas may be too far and tiring and may also be costly.

However, we do find it too uncomfortable with the amount bugs and find that we have some bugs bites from the trip when we came home. it is the price to pay for a good scenery.
As the rooms are quite big, i find the aircon insufficient though.

Overall, my experience is not too bad for a relaxing and stay-in trip in Sahaja & Sawah.

Do try out the in-house aroma therapy spa treatment.

We would recommend a stay at Sahaja Sawah to all our friends! This was a most welcoming pleasant experience for a first visit to Bali. The resort is located on a hill in the midst of paddy fields not far from the sea, so guests have a direct view to the Indian Ocean. That’s very special, and we could not get enough of that view. The surroundings are very peaceful and ideal for spending a relaxed time away from the hustle & bustle of the city.

The staff working at the resort was extremely friendly and always very courteous and polite. The Resort Management has valuable experience in dealing with international guests like us and it was a pleasant surprise to be welcomed by them after a two hour drive from the airport. They were always very helpful in arranging our tours (booking the car, scooters, printing maps, suggesting places to visit, etc). There were no hick-ups with any of the administrative issues. Whenever we had an appointment, personnel were on time (car pick-up, massage) etc. They all made a great impression on us making our stay memorable!
Also the food at the resort was very good I must say. My favorite was the Indonesian Chicken Curry and the BBQ Seafood Platter (which they offer only on demand). Prices are generally good compared to Singapore standards.

Although not really far from Denpasar, the condition of the streets and traffic close to the city makes fast progress in a vehicle almost impossible. The positive side to this is that it gives the impression that Sahaja Sawah is located far from any semblance of civilization.

Did you know that some scenes in the movie ‘eat, pray, love’ with Julia Roberts were filmed close by? (The scene where Julia is riding her bicycle amidst paddy fields). We were quite keen to hear this interesting tidbit of information.

We also found the English meaning of Sahaja Sawah special – “simple place within a rice paddy”! However we don’t really believe its “simple”!

This is my second experiences at Sahaja Sawah, that's why we come back! This is one of the place in Bali you should stay. No regret and I can say "This is the nature of Bali" Fabulous & stunning view surrounded 'rice field & sea' isn't it spectacular?
And also the hospitality of all the staff made us comfortable. So I highly recommend, this is A Must to stay at Sahaja Sawah.

Cheers;
~ Joyce ~

The stay there was simple not worth... Or shall I say we didn't stay there at all.
We checked in to the place and left within 20 mins .
The whole villa was invested with do much of bugs.
We saw crickets in the swimming pool.
A lizard that was my arm size on the roof .

While staying in a rather mid-level hotel with my wife in Kuta, a very congested and crowded part of the island, a new friend recommended we visit this quiet, charming resort. We scored! A driver came to get us to take us into some of the most romantic countryside in Bali. The place is surrounded by rice fields which can be seen from every window and balcony. Just beyond the rice fields is a view of the beach and sea. The sand is black, but soft and comfortable for walking. The sunsets and sunrises are beyond words. The resort staff and management are lovely and helpful while the food is more than edible at a reasonable price and the rooms are top notch. The pool is huge and peaceful. I watched swallows dive for drinks of water all afternoon. International television channels and wifi will keep you in touch with the world while the remote location offers a sweet escape for anyone who needs a break from the rat race! Highly recommend!

it is my third time back to Sahaja&Sawah. Obviously it becomes my vocational home.

when i review the comments of some guests, i understand they may complain about the location or the lack of stock of food, however i want to point out this will not effect you to have a peaceful feeling and vocational mood. in fact, the location makes you far away from the tourism and noise, the helpful and smiling staffs make you feel home and relax, and you can joke with them for fun.

when i stay in sahaja, i don't feel like in a hotel but my private vocational home. it is so secure and safe that i never lock my villa door. when you are staying in the villa, it is so private, quiet and close to the nature. the swimming pool is clean, good tempreture and connected with the living room. the entrance is beautiful and deligate.

the manager josephine is a very helpful and warm lady. you can feel free to ask anything if they can offer. i am big fan of mangi fruit and they even went to buy it and brought to me. also for some special meal which are not on the menu, they can also prepare for you.

in sajaja i feel i m the owner other than pure guest. i think this is what you want when you want to spend a relaxing vocation time with friends, your lover or your family.

next time when i am back to bali, i will definately choose sahaja again.
