“Quaint family-owned motel”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We found Midway Country Lodging due to it's proximity to a wedding we were attending in Sebago. We weren't sure exactly what to expect with a non-chain, family run motel in a rural area, but it was quaint, comfortable, and staying there enhanced our weekend experience. Our room on the second floor was sizable (had a microwave, larger sized mini-fridge, coffee pot, and a cute little "breakfast area"). We also had a balcony with table and chairs that overlooked the beautiful mountains. Owners were very friendly and accommodating.

Room Tip: Rooms with mountain view (11 & 12) are worth the few extra dollars. Beautiful view and a balcon...

We stayed a weekend at this hotel for a friends wedding in the area. It had the essentials such as a fridge and coffeepot in the room. We enjoyed our stay especially for the price....one draw back was our room (room 1) was next to the outside smoker patio and not being smokers it was a bit of a turn off.

On our way from Camden ( ME) to Cape Cod we stopped at a visitor's center to look for an accomodation at Lake Sabago. As it was end of season(October) almost everything was closed. So the lady at the center recommended us Midway County Lodging. The couple at the reception welcomed us warmly and let us choose our room. The man even adviced us to take a room with excellent wifi connection. The room was country stylish furnished and equipped with the things that make travelling comfortable. Small kitchen corner with coffeemaker, microwave and fridge. TV. Neat bathroom. Unfortunately we haven't been able to enjoy the scenery because of the bad weather(fog).

Room Tip: When you are looking for a view on the mountains choose one at the back if available.

But it sure is close. I was working in the Freedom NH area several times over the course of a month and stayed in 3 different area motels. This was by far the best of the three and was recommended by one of the others (The Mount Whittier Motel in Center Ossipee, NH) because they were closing for the winter. I had a 2nd floor room (they have only 2 on the 2nd floor). The view is gorgeous, even this time of year when leaves are gone and there isn't much color. Room was nicely decorated, more like a country inn or B&B than a roadside motel. Room included fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Also small, wall mounted flat screen TV. Noise was minimal from road and other rooms. I slept well, which is a big plus for me. Would highly recommend if you are in this area for "whatever".

Needed a room for 1 night during fall foliage; wasn't sure if I'd find one. I left a message on their answering machine & they returned the call the next morning!! I was shocked & very thankful. They had a room. They recognized that leaf peepers would want the room on Sat. Not Fri. So it worked out for everyone. The rooms each have different motifs. They're very clean. Small refrigerator & microwave in each room. Wifi in each room. Great for one night or as a base for sightseeing. Just off the main road so you don't have constant road noise.

Room Tip: 2 upstairs rooms & downstairs rooms are easy access

My wife and I were attending a horsemanship clinic in Limerick, ME. Our friend in nearby Limington recommended that we call the Midway first. If we coudn't get a room there, she'd start offering second choices. We got the room, and it was pleasing in every way. The location is convenient to the center of town and shopping. The Midway is visible from Route 25, but the traffic noise isn't bothersome. Several restaurants are withing walking distance. The property is well-maintained, and the furnishings and plumbing are all 21st century, including AC, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, flat-screen TV with cable, and wifi. Housekeeping was thorough, and the owners were most hospitable. There's a pool, but we were there out of season.

Room Tip: Their website describes all the rooms. We were in one of the two upstairs rooms with a balcony and p...
