Krista's in Cornish, Maine has become, over the past few years, our favorite restaurant, both as a quiet get away on the weekend or as a place for special occasions. We now take friends there who are visiting and they are never disappointed.
Our most recent visit was for Thanksgiving. It was our third one at Krista's so I guess it's become a tradition. Our children live in other states so it's perfect for just the two of us. And what a meal it was! Nothing fancy...just a heaping plate of succulent baked turkey, moist and tender and perfectly carved. The sausage stuffing is to die for and the meal came with all the trimmings. When the crane arrived to lift me out of my chair after desssert and coffee, I realized that the only negative about the place is that it's a bit of a drive from where we live - about a half hour. Well worth it.

Cornish is a sleepy little town know for its antique shops. And what better way to get ready for a day of walking around to the various shops is to have a meal at Krista's.
While they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, it's teh breakfast that stands out for me.
Great omelets, real poached eggs ( done perfectly) and muffins that are unreal.
Always busy but not generally a wait, it's worth the trip.

As a central meeting place, three old friends got together here for brunch on a Sunday. The menu is varied and complete with both sweet and savory options. We shared a scone which was drier than it should have been. I had eggs Benedict which was availalble with ham, bacon or sausage, but not Canadian bacon, which is the usual key ingredient. I chose the bacon, and the meal was perfectly cooked - plump, hot, runny eggs, crispy bacon, tangy hollandaise and crunchy English muffin. Came with a huge portion of soft cubed potatoes. My friends ordered the breakfast burritos which were HUGE and delicious. We stayed a LONG time past our meal to chat and the staff was never pushy or dismissive - they were attentive and continued to offer us hot drinks and cleared our table and cleaned up around us without making us feel like we were overstaying our welcome. The meal for three came to $54 with tip included. A great low key atmosphere and delicious meal at Krista's.

Simply fabulous! The calamari with rice flour and lemon aoli is delicious and refreshing from the usual drowning in red sauce.

We are locals, and as jazzed as we are there is a decent restaurant to bring your in-laws to in town, that is all this is. It's fine, but make no mistake, these aren't locals and they dont't acknowledge them either.
The food is sub-par, what you'd get at a diner, jazzed up with garnish. Better save your money and hit Sofia's down the road. :)
