This waterfront establshment is absolutely great. Every seat there is a water view. Docked nearby is the training ship "State of Maine" Food was also very, very good- seafood primarily, nothing fancy or complicated here- just straight up good food. Bar is beautiful and you don't want to leave. After touring the beautiful old homes in this historic town and seeing the Maine Maritime Academy- Dennett's is a must stop for a drink, food and just to hang in a very cool place for an hour or two.

Our visit to Dennetts was terrible. We sat at the bar since it looked like it had a great atmosphere.. We then got to watch what I assume was the owner scowl at everyone in the restaurant and then continue to berate the bartender for some issue over which they had no control. The service was good-- but the food was at best mediocre. Everything is over priced and disgusting. The beer choice was good but unless you are there during happy hour it is too expensive. You are better off going somewhere else. Waste of a nice view.

the setting can't be beat - with tables out on both an open deck and a covered deck. Inside, the bar is very long (once a bowling alley lane). Food is typical seafood, burgers are excellent and the varieties of beer appeals to all tastes.

I was there on high school graduation night or thereabouts. The staff were as careful as they could be to direct me as far away from that loud table towards a place I could look out over the historic harbour. (In summer the whole restaurant is under a tent with clear plastic windows which can be raised to let the air in on warm days.) The hanger steak was really tasty, the service first-class.

Wonderful atmosphere, right on the water. Good-sized portions for hungry appetites. Interesting ceiling. It's loaded with money!
