“Poorly run, great clams”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

Just had lunch here on a beautiful Sunday.
Make sure you are charged correctly - we weren't that's where we took notice.
Ordered two clam strip rolls, a cup of chowder and an ice tea. $37.50
Really?
Went back to question the order taker and she took offense, rather than accept an error.

Said the Clam Strip Roll is $10.99 when I corrected her she said huh I have been charging 10.99 for a month - it's $9.99. The total still didn't add up which frustrated her even more. She said it's 8% sales tax which I agreed and said it still doesn't add up.
2 x $9.99 + $4.99 (soup) + $1.99= 26.96 + $2.16= 29.12
She tried to give me $2 back...eventually corrected herself.

Not a good experience.
Have to say the clam strip roll was good and fresh but won't be back, it was a bother for her to get my money back so buyer beware of what you order vs. what you pay.

“Casual Setting, Great Views, a Good Seafood”
Reviewed June 28, 2014 via mobile

The food here is fresh and the service is friendly. Of course, the views are lovely. The restaurant stays open from 11am thru dinner, which is great if you like a late lunch. The only negative is, I thought it was a little expensive for the food and casualness of the place. Paper plates, plastic cutlery, fairly small servings, but high price.

“Nice surprise!”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

We decided to go for a cruise up the coast to Kennebunkport ,Me. We were driving around taking in the beautiful homes and ocean views and came out on a pier road to the Chowder house. We have been to this type of restaurant before ( place your order and take it out to the deck to eat while watching the water. -Chauncey Creek restaurant at Kittery point Me) and loved this place. Getting to the pier to park was very crowded but they had very nice attendants to help you find a parking spot. The view was gorgeous on both sides - the ocean bay at low tide, very cool looking to see boats sitting on the sand. We got a bowl of clam chowder $4.99 and a bowl of seafood chowder for $5.99. Both were very flavorful, thick , creamy style but there wasn't much difference in the taste between them. I got the fried clams platter $17.99 and my husband got the scallop platter for about the same. Both dinner were delicious and had a very light batter and there was a lot on the plate. It was very relaxing and clean there. Staff brings your dinner order and is very accommodating. Out dinner total was $53.00 for or dinners, chowder and drinks a pretty low /average price for fresh fried seafood. Will definitely go back again. Beautiful place to eat!!!

“Just The Place You'd Expect Here”
Reviewed June 16, 2014 via mobile

Perfect tourist expectation on the water, great view, smells and taste. It's a quick place to grab some crab and other seafood. I had a Crab Roll and my wife had the Lobster salad. We split a large Onion Rings. Mine was a toasted (?) hot dog bun with a generous helping of Crab Meat that tasted very good. Hers was fresh salad greens with very fresh Lobster on top. She's pickier than I am and liked it a lot. The Onion Rings were a surprise - fresh cut and fried to perfection. All you can drink soft drinks. Bottom line, when you're driving along Ocean, its a great stop, There are two other restaurants right there - both rate high on Trip Advisor - but this is at the end of the point.
