We always eat here when in Maine. The food is excellent and the portions are enough to split. We usually both get the clam chowder and then split the haddock. The chowder is thick, which is the way we like it. The haddock is lightly battered and is wonderful.

Our first visit was for lunch, on a day it was raining. There are only three tables inside the shack - one for two, one for six and one for eight. Sharing tables obviously is required. We ate in our car. The next day we arrived there for dinner on a clear sunny day, and the patio was open. No problem finding a seat/table. In both cases the food was excellent.

This is a small clam shack with tables inside and out on the cape porpoise pier. The setting is perfect for the food. Mouth watering sweet fried clams and yummy lobster rolls. If you like fried clams these were tender sweet and perfectly fried and a bountiful portion.

The food and ambiance were all you'd expect from a New England Clam Shack -- $20 per person, picnic tables, rude/brusque staff -- but fried deliciousness that makes you return at least once a year. I loved my clam strips, even though the nasty old woman taking my order gave me a lot of grief about ordering them (listen lady, if you don't want people ordering them, you shouldn't sell them). The crab cake was deep fried (oh well) but the sauce with it was outstanding. We all enjoyed their onion rings. My mom and husband liked their haddock (although we've never seen it cut in such small chunks). The view is great. It's worth braving the horrendous parking situation to avoid having to go into kennebunkport.

This place cannot be beat for it's fantastic picture-perfect view of the harbor. At sunset on a July evening, it's the perfect place to enjoy a casual Maine meal. I had dinner there for two nights since it was so pleasant sitting outside on picnic tables. I was, however, disappointed with the quality of the food, with the only exception being the onion rings. The lobster roll was disappointing compared to pther places in the area, and the batter on the fried food was thick and somewhat flavorless. It's not a deal breaker, just be forewarned that the view and charming setting is what you are going for. Enjoy!
