This is a gorgeous, sandy beach. We went in September but I can imagine how wonderful this beach is in the summer!!

“Great Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

My experience with Goose Rocks Beach is one that dates back to the mis 80's. Labor Day week we head up to stay in a house on the beach and relax. The crowds are gone but the waves still crash on the long shore all night. The tide is huge here so the shell searching is pretty good at low tide. We didn't see the harbor seals this year but typically they are out on the rocks every afternoon. Is the parking tricky? Yea, unless you do your homework ahead of time and know the rules. I have never seen this beach full or busy, it is always nice and quiet!

“Charming and beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

Our favorite beach in Maine. Huge, gorgeous beach with plenty of space and interesting sites. Very fun when the tide goes out and leaves tidal pools and shells. Yes, during peak season you do need a parking permit. Not an issue for us. We rented a body board for our son at Aquaholics and enjoyed wading in the water and watching boats. Friendly local residents invited us to a smores beach bonfire, and The Tides is the perfect location for an after beach cocktail. Would be a dream to own one of the ocean side houses and spend the summer here. Perfection!

“Beware of parking!!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

Ok... Here is the deal... If you come here to swim and spend the day ... Yes it is nice and worth the 12.00 dollars parking permit. If you want to just step out of your car and take a peak it's not.... ALL AND I MEAN ALL parking need a permit! We honestly thought we were parking in a free spot and got a 50.00 dollars parking ticket!!!! So MAKE sure to buy a parking permit at the GRB general store

“Beautiful beach but a few downsides--mainly parking”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

Firstly, this is a beautiful beach. It was our first time visiting, and I am glad we saw this beautiful place. However, there are a few downsides. The parking was a nightmare. Having to have a parking pass is simply an enigma to me. Why not just put in parking meters? Instead, we had to circle back to the place that sold the permits and then try to find a place to park. The day we were there it was incredibly crowded. Also, I didn't see any public restrooms or facilities to use while you were on the beach. Like I said, I'm very glad we saw it, but just be prepared for difficulties with parking, lack of access to restrooms, and it is very crowded. Oh, and we visited at the end of July.
