Great outside seating on benches right on the rocky seaside. Some tables with umbrella shades . We ordered lobster rolls , of course, fried clams and strawberry rhubarb pie. BEST and Biggest lams we have ever had . Almost thought they were oysters. Very simple building, one line in for waiting, which took about 30 minutes. Food was excellent, free parking and well worth the trip. It took us no time from downtown Portland on the water to get there.
Good variety of other seafood choices and sides but the Lobster roll was on our list. Comes on a special roll with a little lettuce with just a dollop of mayo on top which was not needed. Cold lobster, warm roll-YUMMMMMMY.

We live in the area and for years have brought our out of town visitors to the Lobster Shack for the great views along the rock bound coast of Maine. The food has always been only average but recently it has dipped to well below average while the prices have significantly increased.

On a recent visit, I ordered the Fisherman's plate (26.95). The portion has shrunk in size and was loaded with poor quality French fries (the frozen packaged variety). The clams were served stuck together in one big glob and the shrimp were the smallest I have ever been served. The two small scallops were overcooked as was the tiny piece of fish. If you were to remove the French fries from the plate there would be very little left.

I believe the family's third generation has recently taken over the business. The workers all appear to be high school and college kids with no apparent adult supervision. The young girl at the register short changed the people in front of me and she didn't know the difference between clams in crumbs and clams in batter.

Hopefully, Martha or her husband will step in and a least get the food and service back up to at least average.

We enjoyed our lobster rolls here--they were traditional and tasty and not too expensive. The setting and view outside are great (though the internal restaurant space itself isn't all that). We took a detour to go here and weren't sorry we did.

The food was fresh, portions fair, staff friendly, and on the ball. The view was beautiful, even in the rain...waves crashing against the rocky coastline. Picture perfect, unique and memorable experience.

Fast food shack with outdoor seating on a seaside cliff. There is minimal indoor seating, so check the weather before going. When we were there it started thunder storming and everyone ran inside. It was cramped because there was not enough seating. During a nice day it seems like not many people sit inside because the view is amazing. Also, parking is a problem. I had to drive around for 20 minutes until a spot opened up, and it is not easy to maneuver in the rock parking lot. Food was kind of average. I think this place is overrated simply because of the view. I got the shrimp platter, not realizing it was popcorn shrimp. Very little seasoning on the shrimp and haddock bites.
