Quintisential Maine. You wait in line (ou will ALWAYS wait in line - this place is really popular) and order. You can then sit either inside (no a whole lot of tables inside but VERY quaint decor) or outside at picnic tables, or take your food down onto the rocks. There are not a whole lot of tables with umbrellas and there are no shade trees, so keep that in mind. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING on this menu that is not amazing. Seriously. I eat here whenever I am in the area.

If you love seafood, don't go anywhere else. The best lobster stew, (worth every penny) and their cole slaw.. to just die for it's so delicious. Whatever the secret ingredient is, it makes the best.. even better than KFC. All the food on the menu is excellent.. I love the clam cakes. It's a small place with indoor dining if you don't mind waiting for a table and there is plenty of outdoor dining if the weather is good. Don't miss this on your next visit..

I ate here third week of September 2012. I had a clam chowder (SUPER!!!!) it was like 3.50, Had a lobster roll with frys it was good, but pricey at like $17. Then had a peice of pecan pie for dessert which was good...The food was really good, but not great. However the view/location of this place is unbelievable...right on the rocky banks of the ocean.

We were at the Lobster Shack early October - it was a rainy day and we waited in line for 30 minutes because we had heard such good things about this place. Well when our number came up the person that was seating everyone skipped right over us and we ended up waiting another 15 minutes...not too happy about that but we thought what the heck...then we got our food - the lobster roll was sub-par to say the least - this place is uber expensive for what you get - we were up and down the coast of Maine for over a week and this by far the most expensive and least good of any place we ate. Definately not worth the wait in our opinion. Perhaps they were having an off day but it's pretty hard to ruin lobster - it was tasteless. Would not go here again but that is just our opinion - I'm sure others will find it wonderful.
