“Good for the Sweet Tooth”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

We stopped here on our way to Portland Headlight. It was very good, and also very down to earth. The prices were great too. If it can be baked, they have it here. My husband and mother-in-law both had pastries, and they were great. We picked up cookies and a whoopie pie for the road, and they were good, too. I would recommend as it easy to access from the road, the food is good, and prices are very fair.

“All will love”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

What a great place. If you're in Cape Elizabeth, don't miss it. Coffee is great and the sweets are wonderful.

The ladies serving you will treat you right.

The highlight, however, is the day old stuff. As good as fresh, but much, much cheaper. How 'bout a loaf of bread for $1.50? Can't beat that.

Right on the road. In and out quickly.

“Local Favorite more tradition than culinary”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Nothing went wrong, great help, great tradition and very loyal clientele LOVE the Cookie Jar. It's not my favorite and I find the pastries to be a bit greasy, leaving that lard film on the top of your mouth and the cookies to be flat in flavor and sort of hard. Otherwise a charming place.
Nice people.

“Great pastry shop when you're passing through”
Reviewed September 16, 2012 via mobile

The everything bagel was pretty good, the coffee (coffee by designs) was fresh and fantastic and my apple turnover with cream was light and totally enjoyable. Reasonable prices, worthwhile stop.
