This is by far one of the nicest places my wife and I have stayed in years. The staff was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The resort itself was clean and very upscale. We will be back for sure.

Wonderful suite! View of the beach, comfortable bedroom, spacious and well-appointed living room area, and darling amenities, too- a little bit of luxury makes for a nice treat. L'occitane soaps and shampoos, delicious little cookies or other sweets brought to the room at tea time, fresh fruit left in the fridge to welcome us- clearly this place recognizes that a nice touch can go a long way in creating appreciation and inspiring loyalty. And with a weekend package purchased through Travel Zoo, what a tremendous value, too. The staff is superb! Everyone has a friendly, helpful attitude- front desk, waitstaff and the spa (excellent spa!). Wonderful restaurant, too. (although I am sure that the microwave option in the room must be a nice option for a longer stay). A bonus was to be able to cross country ski a half hour away, then walk the beach. Not too many locales can offer that mix... Kudos to Inn by the Sea. We can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: A suite with a porch ioverlooking the ocean is hard to beat.

Inn by the Sea is one of my favorite places - EVER! We picked this location because we are a family traveling with our pet and heard they are pet friendly. We booked a winter special rate (including breakfast) and went up for President's Day Weekend. We were given a pet friendly beach front suite with everything you could possibly need. They provided a pet bed, food bowls, doggie bags and a towel for our dog. And since it was February, dogs are allowed on the beach and he had a blast! The also set up a pack and play in the room for our 9 month old, which was helpful, one less thing to travel with. The suite was beautiful and with huge glass windows facing the beach. There was a gas fireplace which was nice to come back to every day, a full kitchen, huge bathroom with soaking tub and even an apple charging station, which came in handy when I realized I forgot to pack my charger!
Breakfast at the Sea Glass restaurant was worth the money. We ate dinner at the Sea Glass one evening as well and the meal was spectacular! Portland was only 7 miles away and was easy to get to with tons of restaurants to choose from as well as shopping. We also ventured out to Freeport (about 20 miles away) to the famous LL Bean and outlets. If you LOVE chocolate like I do, make sure you visit Lenny, the 1700lb Moose made of chocolate at Libby's Candies in Scarborough ME (~10 minutes from the Inn). All in all, a fabulous time and I would stay at the Inn again during any season.

Room Tip: First floor rooms in the suites can be a bit noisy with the neighbors upstairs walking around in their shoes.

The place was fabulous; from the moment you were greeted at the door until the moment you left. The entire staff was incredible. It was a pleasure to travel such a wonderful place with our dog. Views were breathtaking, and a short walk to the beach.

This is truly a great place to stay. The area is great for walks on the beach, visits to lighthouses, and a short trip to Portland. Portland has many choices for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The spa is very relaxing and the staff there are excellent.
