This lighthouse was not as picturesque as some other lighthouses along the Maine coast; however, the rock formations below the lighthouse were the best part of this visit. My husband and I spent a big chunk of our morning climbing and exploring the formations. This is a great place for lighthouse photos that are a bit different from the norm.

We spent many hours here and loved every minute. The lobster shack is really expensive and could be skipped. Grounds and great and it is a must see.

The 2 lighthouses can be seen from a small parking area about a few hundred yards away unfortunately both are on private property and not acessable

When someone tells you that something is a must-see and in many calendars, you would think that visiting the site in person would blow you away. Well, this was the exact opposite. While it was nice to see it from a distance, a private residence adjacent to the lighthouse blocked us from getting anywhere near it. The town should purchase that residence and make it into a lighthouse museum and/or visitors center and allow people to get up close to the lighthouse. I certainly did not think this attraction was worth the drive.
