We just returned from 2 nights stay at Captain Swift Inn. I thought I'd stayed at a 5 star B&B previously, but I was wrong. If the others were 5 stars, then this deserves a 10!
First of all, the 2 rooms we stayed in were spacious and very clean. Little touches like umbrellas, cold bottled water, movies and cookies/snack at 4pm were much appreciated. The rooms have a bright, airy feeling, and the inn is on the main road leading into Camden. We left our car at the Inn and never used it all weekend. The walk to town was no more than 7 minutes.
Mostly, though, it is the innkeepers that make this place special. Their hospitality was bountiful. At breakfast each morning, they were both there to talk and give recommendations on what to do in town or around the area. And the breakfast-AMAZING! Each morning started out with a fruit dish, followed by the main course. The 2 mornings we were there, we had Belgium Waffles and A cheddar and bacon frittata. Delicious. Norm and Linda, we will be back as soon as we can!

We were warmed from the minute we walked into the Captain Swift Inn! Our host was as warm as the fresh cookies. Everything was done with hospitality in mind (including helping us find a place for dinner - to the soap, sheets and comfortable bed). The breakfast was outstanding with fresh, local ingredients. And Camden is as charming as the inn, with the harbor and opportunity for excursions only a short walk away.

We came prepared to be thrilled, and no one let us down. Good scenery, good food, great excursions, a great place to stay and, mostly, wonderfully friendly people!

Visiting the area is a great way to help decided whether future residence is in the cards. We need to do this again during the winter months to be sure.

Room Tip: Staying anywhere from Wiscasset to Belfast....no bad choices that we saw. Don't miss taking a ri...

Loved this Inn - it was quaint and homey. The wonderful smell of homemade cookies greeted us when we arrived! The staff were very welcoming and had lots of great suggestions for sightseeing. We couldn't have asked for a better location - walking distance of the harbor and shopping area. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was large!

Norm and Linda are warm and friendly people. Immediately upon our arrival we were greeted by Norm who was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a few ideas of things to do on our four day stay before showing us to our rooms. We stayed in the Coastal Hideaway Suite which was very spacious and comfortable. The whirlpool bath also comes in very handy after a day of hiking around Mt. Battie and Megunticook. The breakfast was amazing all four days we stayed. Two courses every day with coffee and juice. The inn is only a short walk to downtown and the harbor. We am looking forward to our next stay!

I agree with the reviews below; The Captain Swift Inn is a great choice. Linda and Norm are wonderful hosts, and very helpful with local information, especially with Norm's "custom" map. Ajax the dog is a sweetie, too. Breakfasts were very good, and the Bay Breeze room was roomy and comfortable. I appreciated the guest passes for the local YMCA, and it was so convenient to be able to walk to the town center. Don't miss visiting the Camden Library-great harbor views and lots of interesting history.

Room Tip: The Bay Breeze is nice, but up the narrow, steep staircase in front.

We returned to the Captain Swift recently for our second visit under the current owners. The inn is very well situated in the picturesque town of Camden Maine. It’s walking distance to town and restaurants and has ample parking. The innkeepers are very nice and most accommodating. Breakfasts were delicious and they readily adjusted to our special needs. The food was of very high quality with plenty of fruit but I would suggest some healthier and less filling options be made available. Our room was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. We had the handicapped room right off the main sitting area but were not bothered by the noise outside the room. The hosts are very helpful with things to do in the area. We will be back!
