“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

We were extended wonderful hospitality and were so pleased we were able to stay an additional night. We were on a 16 day trip through Maine, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and this was the last stay of some 11 B & Bs. A great place to end our trip. We were served two of the best breakfasts of anywhere we stayed, truly gourmet! We highly recommend Captain Swift Inn and might add it is a very short walk to shops and restaurants.

One never knows if they made the right reservation -- the Captain Swift was perfection. When we reserved our room (The Cabin Retreat) Linda asked if we had any dietary restrictions. Being diabetic, she offered to made me an omelet on their "sweet day." (They alternate daily between sweet and savory.) The breakfasts were "out of this world!" The savory was so delicious: an egg strata made with brie, that they sent me the recipe after I complimented it!
I added some pictures of the food at the Captain Swift, since so many have added photos of the rooms.

The Inn was beautiful- old but with a contemporary kick in its decorating. Nothing stuffy about this place. It was very welcoming. Our room was HUGE and included a microwave, coffee maker, 2nd TV and fridge on the second floor. If there was a downside to the Inn, it would be the lack of central air-conditioning. There was a window air-conditioner on the second floor and a ceiling fan. We traveled in October, so this was not necessary.

Rooms are kept nicely. Super clean. Lovely linens and comfy beds. LOTS of towels.

Location was a perfect 3 block walk into Camden right on route 1, with easy off street parking. Norm and Linda were very accessible with LOTS of ideas to make Camden a perfect stay. It was obvious that they wanted us to fall in love with Camden, as they had. This review would be remiss if I didn't mention that the were generous with the toiletries and a 24 hour Keurig machine that must have had 30 different choices.

We have stayed at about 10 inns. There is no question that the Captain Swift and its innkeepers Linda and Norm are right there at the top. (They tie with the Captain's Manor Inn in Falmouth, MA. where we had an incredible stay last year.)

Room Tip: We loved our room. Even if you cannot do stairs, the Cabin Retreat or Coastal Hideaway will be very...

Cute, typical New England style inn with cozy rooms and beautiful dining/ living area. Linda and Norm are wonderful hosts who give you tips on the area and make an amazing home cooked breakfast. Would go there again any time and recommend to anyone.

What a fantastic stay at Captain Swifts. Linda and Norm made us feel right at home. We highly recommend the inn to everyone. The room was comfortable and the breakfasts magnificent. We can't say enough about the Inn and can't wait to return.

Attention to detail in all aspects of the Inn's operation made our visit to Camden wonderful. The gourmet breakfast was delightful-and the Maine wild blueberries were divine!!! Great B&B The location near downtown Camden made our visit without a car really fun. Great restaurants, great shops. Beautiful harbor!

We enjoyed all aspects of our stay! The location was an easy walk to the shops and restaurants. We liked being able to take a leisurely walk back to our room after dinner. Our room was lovely and comfortable. And the breakfasts were absolutely delicious -- we didn't need to eat again until dinner. Oh almost forgot, afternoon homemade cookies and lemonade; so, I guess I did eat a little before dinner :). I could continue writing more but will just add one more plus: we appreciated their suggestions on best restaurants in town. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
