“Breakfast in the Garden!”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Inns at Blackberry Common. The rooms were very comfortable, very clean and beautifully decorated with such attention to detail. Jim and Cyndi are very accommodating and gave us wonderful suggestions for places to see, restaurants not to miss, and gorgeous drives in and around Camden, making our trip even more memorable. You will feel like royalty being served The Inns' delicious, gourmet breakfasts. The second morning we opted for breakfast in the garden. Our server offered to take a photo of us at our garden bistro table as proof that we really did experience that awesome moment. We are planning to return to The Inns when we are in Maine.

We stayed here with our 27 year old son and his girlfriend. Both rooms were very comfortable. Large, private baths, robes in the room. The breakfasts were soooo good, top notch presentation and taste. Will definitely go back.

Wonderful B&B and lovely owners who go out of the way to help guests have a great time in town and the surrounding area. Delicious meals and clean rooms, with awesome AC. Jim and Cyndi made us feel right at home and were very accommodating to our young son, who enjoyed roaming around the beautiful gardens in the early morning. Would return here in an instant.

Stayed one night here at the last minute on a mid coast getaway. Stayed in a queen bed room which was very well appointed. Had lovely bathrobes and toiletries. Air conditioning was available also. The food was EXQUISITE! Great location which allows you to walk to town and restaurants. This was a joyous experience and we will return and send our many summer guests there too.

This is our second time staying here, and once again we were happy with our stay. There was a bit of a heat wave happening, and the air-conditioning worked like a charm. Beds were confortable, and we particularly enjoyed having a two-bedroom suite, even though one bed was a smaller one. Breakfasts were delcious with gluten free food for my friend. The owners were visible and accommodating and the staff were friendly too. This is an old home so the steep and narrow staircase was a challenge but staff were more than willing to carry my luggage both up and down. There was a mini-fridge off the sitting room for the convenience of guests, as well as a keurig for those who wanted coffee on demand. We will be back.

Room Tip: I snore so having a separate bedroom for each of us was an important consideration, so the Cape Eliz...

My husband and I are Camden connoisseurs. We first started visiting in 2009, got married here in September 2010, and come back to visit as often as possible. I'm due in August 2013, so we started planning a June babymoon in the spring. We purchased a weekend at the Inns of Blackberry Common through SniqueAway. It's a place that we had driven by many times, but never gave much thought to. We are beginning to learn that there are two many spectacular places in Camden to stay in one place time after time, but we will definitely come back here again and again.

What sets the Inns at Blackberry Commons apart? Three things: the size, cleanliness and beauty of the guest rooms, the breakfasts, and the owners, Cyndi & Jim. I wish we had known about this place when we were recommending places to stay for our wedding - it is one of the most comfortable B&Bs we've ever stayed in. We stayed in the Bette Davis room, which Cyndi explained was so named because Bette Davis was friends with the previous owners and would stay there often. It's on the road, but extremely quiet. The bed was very comfortable. I had been having third trimester-induced insomnia and slept like a baby for two glorious nights in that bed.

We had a great time getting to know Cyndi and Jim, who are as enthusiastic about Camden as we are. Jim's breakfasts are beyond - we usually eat at Boynton & McKays on the day that we drive home, but I insisted that we eat both mornings at the inn. The coffee is spectacular, the food is creative, beautiful, and most importantly, delicious. Fresh and well-seasoned. I'm finicky about eggs but the omelette we had was moist and flavorful. The food is also plentiful (an appetizer at breakfast? yes please!), so if you don't pace yourself, you won't be able to enjoy it all.

We ate breakfast in the garden, which was lovely, but the breakfast room is cozy.

Cyndi & Jim basically know everyone and everything about the area, so if you are visiting for the first time, you will be well taken care of.

We got a tour of the hidden treasures of the house, as well as Jim's very impressive wood piles. Despite our musings that we wouldn't be able to come back to visit for a while, they assured us that babies are very welcome in the Birch Retreat room, which they showed us. I consider this fantastic news!

We can't say enough about how wonderful this weekend was, and Cyndi and Jim had a lot to do with it. You can book here with confidence!

Room Tip: Bette Davis room is in the front but quiet, beautiful and comfortable. The Birch Retreat is good fo...

This was our first experience staying at a Bed & Breakfast, and what a great initiation it was! The common areas and dining areas are beautifully decorated reminiscent of the days when the Inn was built.

Our suite, "The Birch Retreat", looked like the the interior of a rustic log cabin, but the luxuries were all tastefully integrated into the design of the suite. The bed was perhaps the most comfortable we have ever slept in, and the bathroom, with it's unique cabin like decorations, had all the amenities of a five star hotel.

To be honest, I never eat breakfast, but after my husband raved about how great breakfast was on day one, there was no way I was going to miss it on day two. I savored every bite of the polenta with berries and "eggs blackberry", a delicious twist on eggs Benedict.

The gardens around the Inn are beautiful. It is a short three block walk to downtown Camden and the ocean. If you are going to Camden, stay here, relax, and enjoy!! You will feel like a VIP!
