GREAT 2 hour sail cruise. Captain and mate were personable and friendly. The scenery was great and the ship beyond compare. For $35 per person we were totally pleased with the experience!

“Fabulous Day on The Olad”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

On our recent visit to Maine, we wanted to take our kids out to experience sailing on a schooner. We were happy that we picked The Olad out of Camden, ME. Captain Aaron and Mate Matthew made our 2 hours at sea so enjoyable and the kids loved it. The seals we spotted on a little island made the trip absolutely fabulous and the photo they gave to us of our family onboard is one we'll cherish. We can't wait to go back again.

“A Beautiful Day at Sea”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

We had the perfect day at sea with Captain Aaron aboard the schooner Olad outside Camden Harbor... Would like to have gone out closer to the nearby islands but the Cap'n took us where the sailing was best. We had reserved the day before but it was cloudy and foggy so we opted to go the following day- and that was no problem for the Captain. They're family friendly and kid-friendly in particular. Cap'n Aaron kept us entertained with fascinating stories about Maine and Camden in particular. Very well worth the $35 ticket. There are soft drinks available but the captain has no problem with food and drink you may wish to bring aboard. There are four or five two-hour cruises each day from the public landing at Camden. When your cruise is over the Harborside restaurant is right there at the dock, along with a really good hot dog stand. Also- for some good ice cream, try the Camden Cone, nearby.

“Never sailed before”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

One of the best experiences ever! I always told my husband I would never go on any kind of sail boat, but when we were in Camden celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary we decided to give it a try. Aaron (the Captain and owner) and his first mate Molly were so gracious and so knowledgable. We learned so much and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of being on the bay without a motor to distract from the beauty. There were only 8 of us on board for our sail so it made it very intimate. Everyone should sail on the Olad. Wonderful!!!

“Incredible Experience”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

My fiance and I had planned on taking the sunset cruise on the Olad because we had been on the schooner two summers ago and had really enjoyed it. But when we arrived on the dock, we were told that the captain may not take us out since we were the only two who had made reservations. However, when the captain arrived, he happily took us out on what turned out to be a beautiful, privet sunset cruise! It was so incredibly nice of the crew to go out for a 2 hour trip when they could have just as easily called it a day. It was an unforgettable experience. We can't wait to get on the Olad again (no matter how many other people are with us!)
