My friends and I stayed at the Cedar Crest Inn for three days. The property was beautiful, in a great location, and the room is well appointed. I can even attest that the fold-out sofa bed is pretty comfortable. As stated in my friend's review, the pacing that could be heard from the room above us was interminable. We do believe there was mold in our room, despite the manager's response that there were "no notable aromas of any kind".
Also, the restaurant was very nice and I appreciate the chef making lobster eggs benedict at my request.
I want to finish by saying that if a person reviews an establishment based on their experience, the assistant manager should not respond with snarky comments about the cost of the room and suggest staying in a more expensive room or upper level, especially considering these rooms may not have met the reviewer's needs. In this case, considering we'd never stayed there before, we wouldn't know about the inadequate sound-proofing.
With that being said, Cedar Crest is a nice hotel and meets most travelers' needs. However, for future stays I will be checking out Camden's other offerings.More
