This hotel is a gem. I honestly cannot say enough good things about it. We've stayed here several times and each time has been wonderful. The staff is friendly and very accommodating, the rooms are clean (and I'm super particular about cleanliness), spacious, and charming. The location is wonderful! Every time we visit Camden, we will look no further...we plan to stay here time and time again!

My family & I recently stayed 2 nights at Lord Camden Inn. We loved it. Small hotel on main street right in heart of town. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is wonderful with large variety. Most rooms have balconies and some with views of harbor. Staff friendly & accommodating. Not luxury hotel, but well maintained and fun place to stay. Best ice cream stand in town right out back door! Would definitely stay there again if in Camden!

Room Tip: Try to get room on higher floors with view of harbor

Our favorite of 3 boutique hotels we stayed in, during a 7 day trip up the New England Coast, Boston to Bar Harbour. You can't get more centrally located in Camden and the accommodations were nice. We weren't on the water, but across the street. Still, the view of the quaint shops were great and it never got noisey. We were in room 408, a King room with a balcony overlooking the water. We wanted to sit there all day and watch the boats! In the AM, the sun rises over the water, so the room darkening curtains were a blessing. The rooms were tight, but workable. Our room looked just like the photos shown, so we were pleased. The brick walls made it very warm. The bed was comfy. The breakfast buffet was well appointed with fruit, yogurts, eggs, quiche, sausages, oatmeal and assorted bagels, muffins, etc.

The only 2 negatives were (#1) the AC unit was a floor model and covered by the curtains at night and the comfy chair was unusable because we couldn't sit close to the AC, but there was no room elsewhere. (#2) The kitchen needs a new waffle iron! Every day, every guest was told the same thing...."spray it heavy with Pam Spray" but then we worked like crazy to get it off......even then, it came off in tiny pieces. It seems to be an ongoing problem, looking at the iron and the heavy accumulation of batter/oil. Just buy a new one! ha Overall........we loved it at the Lord Camden Inn. Parking is a block away, but not a large city block. The staff was friendly! The room was clean and quiet. The shower was a little tight. Overall, we would return here and recommend it!

Room Tip: While at Lord Camden Inn, we took a day trip to Bar Harbour/Acadia National Forest. Perfect!

Dear extex1980,

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our Inn! We are so pleased to have been your favorite stay during your New England getaway! Thank you for your kind words regarding the Inn, its location, and our breakfast being well appointed! I do apologize for your waffle experience, this is an area we have been missing the mark on lately and are working towards a remedy due to it being too much of a favorite part of our guest’s breakfast experience to remove. I’m happy to learn of your friendly staff experience as we strive to provide world class customer service!

We look forward to your next stay with us and can also look into larger accommodations as well during your time with us!

We stayed at The Lord Camden Inn for 1 night recently. We enjoyed this hotel. The staff is very friendly.
The room was in good condition and clean. But it was a little outdated.
The breakfast was good, but not as advertised. They advertise it like it is a luxurious hotel, but it turned out to be your typical free breakfast. Why do I have to spray the waffle iron to "make it non-stick"?
I love the charm that it has to offer.
The location was excellent. It is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants.
I think I would go again. This was an ok hotel.

Room Tip: City view on the 3rd floor.

Dear Mitchell G,

Thank you for your review of Lord Camden Inn. I am delighted to hear you enjoyed the Inn! Thank you for your kind comments regarding the very friendly staff. I do apologize that you felt the room to be a little outdated; the Inn itself does occupy a historic 1883 brick building and the décor is set to New England coastal. We have made many upgrades within the past two years to include new paint palettes, carpeting, bedding, flat screen televisions, and balcony furniture, just to name a few. I would like to learn more of your breakfast experience as you mentioned it being good by not as advertised. We take pride in offering fresh locally sourced ingredients to provide a good start to our guest’s morning and feel we define our offerings as experienced on our website. Our waffle maker does require a release spray to be used prior to pouring the batter in as it is a cast iron model. The combination of cast iron and release spray assists in both consistency and quality, along with an easier to remove waffle. We greatly thank you again for providing a review of our Inn and use all forms of feedback as a tool towards positive growth!

We graciously appreciate your stay with us and the charm and location along with each of our staff look forward to welcoming you back to Lord Camden Inn!

Sincerely,
Erick Anderson

We just returned from the Lord Camden. Stayed 4 nights with my Scotties 2 nights in #407 lovely faces the back large room with deck. Then we moved to the Fireplace room wonderful, larger separate living room, deck. We loved this Inn very doggie friendly, terrific location, shops right downstairs, lots of green spaces to walk the 4 legged family. The Harbor is 5 min away from the the Inn.

Room Tip: choose a room that is not Oceanside if you want more room. We preferred a back facing room and large...

We stayed at the Lord Camden Inn for 3 nights as part of a 2 week holiday exploring New York, the Maine coast and Boston. We chose this hotel on the back of good Trip Advisor reviews.

The 1st thing to mention about the hotel is its truly excellent location on the main street and just across from the scenic harbor. It's in the middle of town amongst lots of boutique shops and eateries and a few minutes’ walk to the harbor, where there are some really excellent water front restaurants.

On arrival the parking is a bit of a pain as you have to park up temporarily to drop your bags, get the key from the hotel and drive a short distance up the road to the hotels car park. It’s a bit of a hassle at Check-In and Check-Out but nothing too dramatic.

Our Check-In was very welcoming, friendly and efficient and there were nice touches, such as complimentary tea/coffee and fresh home-made cookies in reception. Our room on the 4th floor was warmly decorated, large, clean, bright and quiet with very comfortable beds (best of our 2 week holiday). WiFi worked well and there was a large fridge, modern flat screen and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was well equipped with high quality complimentary toiletries. We had chosen a harbor facing room, which was a real plus as it faces the quaint main street and is just high enough to look over the buildings opposite and out across the wonderful harbor setting. As a pre-dinner ‘sun-downer’ it was wonderful to sit out with a cold beer and a book and watch the world go by. Although we had a street facing room there was never any issues with noise and we had our best sleeps throughout our holiday.

We did make use of the Gym which was small and basic but had the necessary running, cycling machines and some weights. It was good enough for our purposes.

The free breakfast was really excellent with a clear focus on homemade and local produce. As the hotel was busy, often it could be a difficult finding a table and many people rather selfishly hadn’t worked out that you had to clear your table on departure. That’s not the hotels fault though. One item that is obviously causing the hotel teething problems is the ‘do-it-yourself’ Waffle making machine and we witnessed many scrapped and burnt offerings by others. As a tip, if you want a really great ice cream don’t have it in any restaurants but try the place at the back entrance of the hotel. Exceptional!

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very pleased with our choice. The hotel is in a great location, the harbor facing rooms were excellent and there are lots of personal touches which make a difference to the overall experience. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Go for a harbor facing room on the 4th floor. Ours was at the end of the row.
