If you are staying in Camden, you'll certainly be passing through this part of town. If you are driving through, definitely stop for a few minutes near to the library and take in the view. It can't be beat, and it's free (even the parking is free).

A drive or a walk through this area is great. Lovely old homes, beautiful gardens, and a sense of history abound.

This is an "all-American" scene. No wonder they filmed "Peyton Place" here. Lovely New England town green; great turn-of-the-century brick buildings (thanks to an entire town fire) myriad of nice shops (not all of them touristy) and all very walkable.

What a variety of shopping and dining opportunities! The harbor was a few feet away from downtown and presented a classic New England picture.

Most of the shops are geared for wealthy tourists, so caveat emptor. However, all are charming, and some have interesting locally produced objects.
