Service. service and more service, that is Camden Harbour Inn. We have never stayed at a hotel where the entire staff is commited to make sure you have the best stay ever. The bell boy, innkeepers, housekeeping and restaurant staff, all of them are sincerely intersted, personal and always one step ahead of you. The rooms are luxurious and well decorated with modern furniture and very comfortable beds. Breakfast is included and delightful, best coffee in years! We had a corner room with views over the harbor, mountains and bay, it was breathtaking. This was the first time we were actually debating if we should just stay at the hotel the whole day or explore the surroundings. Never, ever had we such a wonderful experience!

Room Tip: corner room has amazing views. Champagne included in breakfast!

The Camden Harbour Inn is an incredibly unique place. It is truly a 5-star hotel, of incredible taste and elegance, in the most charming small-town coastal-Maine setting imaginable. The owners, Oscar and Raymond have brought something truly exquisite to Camden. However, anyone contemplating a stay here should know that the owners' knowledge and instincts about hospitality and style are equally in evidence in the people that they have chosen to work with them at the Inn. Everyone here is incredibly warm, unobtrusively friendly and attentive. After doing the outdoors/physically active Camden-thing, unwind at the bar and trust yourself to Tom (or Ryan); you won't be disappointed..The food, wine, it's presentation and service is the equal of the finest restaurants in NYC--all of this in an unsurpassed location in Camden, Maine.

My husband had wanted to experience a rustic experience for our summer vacation in Maine so he found a rental on the island of Matinicus. The island was beautiful, the people were amazing but unfortunately our cabin rental was a disaster. We were booked for two weeks and after a few days my 9 yr. old son and I broke down. We begged and pleaded to go to Camden to take showers and use a flushing toilet. I called The Camden Harbour Inn and told Oskar of our plight. He was lovely. He took care of everything in five minutes. I got off the phone and told my husband that my son and I were off to a luxurious break for a day, of course my husband broke down as well and said he wanted to come along. The three of us found ourselves snuggled in a fluffly cloud of a bed, taking beautiful showers and getting pampered by Oskar, Anne-Marie and especially Tyler. Our dinner that night at Natalie's was stupendous and our breakfast the next morning was wonderful. The charming Tyler made sure to take care of our every whim before we went back to "roughing it". We will absolutely return. Next time we will make sure to spend our whole vacation at Camden Harbour Inn!

We usually don't write reviews. We stay at the best hotels in the world, pay top dollar and expect service and amenities are the best available. After staying at the Peninsula in Hong Kong and Four Seasons in New York earlier this month, we were stunned to find out that a small inn would exceed service and attention to detail on every level. The suite was beautiful appointed and with a sauna, steam shower and jacuzzi it could easily compete with any luxury suite at any top rated hotel in the world. We paid slightly over a $1000 per night and we thought it was inexpensive for everything that was included. Camden Harbor Inn does it right, this is pampering with a capital P!

Room Tip: If you can afford it than book one of the new suites, highly recommended

Great location for exploring all that Camden has to offer. The inn has a warm inviting feel from the moment you enter. The staff was wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delcious. The rooms are VERY comfortable and well done. Comfortable common area to sit and relax by a fire with a glass of wine. Large porch for dining, or reading a book in comfortable rockers, while enjoying an ocean view, even though not panoramic. We attended a destination wedding for about 80 people here - so beautifully done from start to finish. Would like to come back for a getaway weekend soon!

Room Tip: Loved our room - the Ceylon. Large and bright and equipped with a fireplace.

My husband and I stayed at the Camden Harbour Inn on August 19 and 20 and had the best inn stay we’ve ever had in Maine. (He’s been to Maine eight times, and I’ve been twelve, including the summer jobs.) Over the years we’ve tried several of the old seacoast inns that are touted in travel magazines. This place was far superior. Service and cuisine was definitely 5 star +, way up there with the top European hotels, but without the pretension. Ambience is magical Maine at its best. The lovely owners Oscar and Raymond are always around seeing that things are running smoothly, and conversing with guests about meals and daily activities.
We loved being able to walk into Camden with its many eating places and shops, watching the ships down at the harbor, and visiting a winery at the end of Lake Megunticook. I booked a room at the inn because of the gourmet lobster menu, but found the whole place went way beyond our expectations. Our room—the Mauritius—was very spacious and comfortable. (This is an old Maine inn with modern décor inside; think comfy leather chairs instead of padded wicker, modern art instead of old paintings, muted walls instead of flowered paper.) Since the weather was perfect, we ate outside on the porch. My husband had pureed corn soup, which he claims is the best soup ever. I indulged in lobster tails and bisque. From talking to our waitress and waiter, I learned that the chef has searched for the state’s top purveyors of vegetables, meat, and fish. Not surprising!

Room Tip: Get a room to the front with a view of the water.

We stayed two nights in a second floor room and had dinner one night at Natalie's. The inn is a nice historic building on a quiet street close to town. From the second floor, the harbor view is quite limited in Summer and definitely not panoramic. Furnishings in our room were clunky and uncomfortable. The restaurant is decorated in distracting and jarring red fabric over uncomfortable chairs. We found the restaurant service to be frenetic and confused both at dinner and breakfast. While the food was interesting, we found dinner down the street at 57 Bay View Bistro to be more tasty and well served. Overall, we thought the Inn was a poor value for the money.
