Taking our son to college and enjoyed a couple nights at this lovely inn before the college crush. Beautiful hotel in convenient location-Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were welcomed with cookies and lemon water in the lobby. Our room mostly overlooked the parking area and included a partial view of the harbor. When we booked the reservation, they were very clear that it overlooked the parking lot and only had a partial view. Still, the view was very nice and when we sat on our small deck, we mostly saw the harbor.

Our king bedded room was spacious with a large beautiful spa bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate 6 nozzle shower. With three people sharing the room, we appreciated the separate sink with mirror outside the bathroom. Our room also had a small room with glass doors with a pull-out couch that pulled out to a bed for my son. Both areas had wide screen t.v.'s and wifi. The room was clean, well furnished and appointed.

In the morning our breakfast was delivered to our room. The breakfast was not extensive but delicious with quiche, scones, yogurt, granola, coffee and juice.

Perfect location in Camden adjacent to the harbor and the small walk along the water. Close to the schooner tours, shopping and a variety of restaurants. Hard to leave and look forward to returning. As we left one of the staff members stood outside and waved goodbye to us!

We booked 2 nights here (hotel policy) and what we thought would be a king room with waterfront views and this delicious breakfast in the room, it sounded divine so we took the plunge and booked here, it's not cheap!! Upon check in, Marius showed us to our room and as soon as we walked in I asked if there was another room available as this one overlooked the carpark, the back of a noisy restaurant Ottis and some delivery vans, trucks etc....we were told they were fully booked and that was it! So, very unhappy with the room, the noise and the overall lack of offering us any other choice. After 1 hour we decided to leave but they had already charged us for our room so....we informed front desk we were leaving in the morning and so glad we did!!! Very happy to have got out of that joint. The Internet didn't work either. The famous breakfast consisted of granola with yogurt, half a kiwi fruit, a sweet shortcrust pastry,, coffee and tea. What happened to the bagels and croissant promised on the booking? I did receive an email from management today offering us an apology and whilst I take it on board, it's a little too late I'm afraid. They had ample opportunity to fix the problem and they didn't. My advise re this hotel is make sure you know which room exactly you are getting as we were under misleading information, double check it so you won't experience the disappointment we encountered. See photos.

Room tip: Make sure you know exactly the room you've booked.

Dear bootscooter55,

We thank you very much for providing a review of Grand Harbor Inn as we utilize all forms of feedback as tools towards positive growth. I am very sad to learn your expectations were neither met nor exceeded during your stay with us. Furthermore, I am confused regarding your 1 out of 5 TripAdvisor rating as in comparison to your in-room comment card rating us a 4 out of 5. We take great pride in the Inn and services we provide as you will see from the many other testaments here on our TripAdvisor page along with other review sites. I do want to ensure that some of the comments in which you highlighted were meant towards Grand Harbor Inn and would like to assist in some corrections so as to not misinform future travelers; we do not require any minimum nights to reserve as our guests are free to reserve only one evening should they so desire throughout the entire year. We do indeed offer Waterfront accommodations and do advertise this appropriately on our website and other online advertising so as to not mislead our future guests. Our Grand Suites which you had reserved are described on our website and online elsewhere as “Set further back from the water's edge, our Grand Suites offer distant views of the Inner Harbor and the Village Landing.” We were indeed sold out during the evenings you were a guest of ours which did leave us without any further choices to offer, other than happily waiving your early departure charges, without rebooking the room at late notice. Grand Harbor Inn does book quickly as we are only a small 10 room boutique Inn, and Camden’s only Waterfront Property. Our Grand Suite with 2 queen beds is the only 2 bedded option within the hotel. This desired layout is primarily chosen specifically by the guest therefore we are unable to move current in-house guests or incoming reservations to a two bedded option when they had reserved a king room. While we have been able to offer croissants as a baked item on occasion, we only advertise a fresh baked sweet pastry item, which changes daily between muffins, scones, coffee cakes, croissants, sticky buns, and other items with exclusion of bagels.

I apologize that both of our Inn’s Management follow-ups were perceived as too little too late during your overnight accommodation, but as discussed in my previous follow-up I do hope we have the chance to host your next Camden, Maine stay in the future and would be happy to be of service in assisting you in reserving you a Waterfront accommodation.

Sincerely,
Erick Anderson

We were visiting family in the area and stayed at Grand Harbor Inn. I've been in the hotel biz nearly all of my life which makes me somewhat critical as our eyes and ears are trained. I can simply say this beautiful place did not disappoint! Our stay was Five Star from the moment we checked in to the sad moment we had to leave. The staff was beyond gracious and anticipated our needs before we could even think of them. That certainly reflects on the management and the staffs happiness. The rooms were exquisite with gorgeous views of the harbor. The beds were so comfy we didn't want to get up, but wanted so much to take in the town. Attention to detail was amazing and very well thought out. I wish we could have tried the restaurant, next time as we WILL be back. Kudos to the entire team! Keep up the good work!

The Grand Harbor Inn not only met our expectations but exceeded them for a great comfortable room and hotel. We loved being able to relax on the balcony in the morning enjoying our coffee and breakfast and repeat said activity in the evening while we enjoyed a glass of wine. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quiet, even with the outside dock activity.

We only stayed one night, but we loved it. Our suite was everything we could have asked for. The bed was wonderfully comfortable with luxurious linens, the bath was nicely appointed, and the 2 sided fireplace was cozy though we didn't turn it on since it was summer. The entire staff was friendly. Since they don't have a restaurant, the delicious breakfast was brought to our room and we enjoyed it on our balcony with a view. It isn't inexpensive, but it was worth the splurge!
