We loved the Maine Stay Inn!!!!

The owners are so kind and accomodating. They truly take an interest in their guests and do everything possible to make you feel welcome, valued and comfortable. They spend time talking with you at breakfast (the meals are delicious and presented beautifully) and offer suggestions of how to make the most of your time in Camden and the general area.
Camden is charming and beautiful. My husband and I love to walk and this inn is located just around the block from all the restaurants, shops, harbor and entertainment. We highly recommend the Maine Stay Inn!

Ten years ago we spent 5 days at the Maine Stay Inn and we did so again this year. It was just as delightful both times - and we are likely to return again. The rooms have great character - but our favorite is the Common Ground Room. Breakfast was always a gourmet delight - and the afternoon cookies were sinful. The gardens are lovely and there are plenty of in door and out door areas at the Inn to observe the well kept property that was carefully maintained and full of beautiful flowers and birds.

Claudio and Roberta were charming hosts. We enjoyed their stories of Rome and getting settled in Maine. For having been in the area only since December, their knowledge of Camden and recommendations for fine food and fun were extremely impressive.

The Maine Stay Inn is walking distance to down town Camden Harbor where there is plenty of shopping, dining, boating along with delightful park areas to simply enjoy the view of the most beautiful Harbor in the world. One shouldn't visit Camden without a sunset cruise aboard the windjammer "Surprise". A short drive takes you to other fun activities including Mount Battie, Camden Hills Park, Cellardoor Vineyards, Working Farms, many lighthouses and other very quant harbor towns.

The Camden Maine Stay Inn was an idyllic place to be. It is a charming, well-maintained, clean inn with fantastic inkeepers, Roberta and Claudio. There is a beautiful garden with areas to sit, and creative, delicious breakfasts which are serviced to you either in the dining room or in the sun room. We loved the sun room as it overlooked the flower garden and birdfeeder. Our room, The Dogwood Room, was delightful and also overlooked the garden. Our 5 night stay at the Maine Stay contributed so much to our enjoyment of Mid-Coast Maine.

My husband and I went to the Maine Stay for a long weekend away and it was perfect!
The décor of their sitting rooms create a comfortable place to sit, read, chat, or just meander around looking at their many paintings from Italy. They also have a TV room with a library of DVD movies.
The Smith Robinson room, which is the room we stayed in, was extremely clean and very comfortable with good quality mattress, sheets, and linens.
It felt like we were visiting family or friends versus staying at a B & B. One of the things that struck me about the Maine Stay was how clean and comfortable it is. I read a comment on line that said it was immaculate and it is!
Roberta & Claudio, who are the owners, are very friendly, caring, accommodating, and interesting people to meet and talk with. They have a knack for this business.
Breakfast in the morning was perfect out in the Sun Room. We had fresh fruit, homemade bread, and perfectly prepared eggs and/or pancakes. In addition, they had great coffee and fresh juice.
If you are in the Camden area of Maine, The Maine Stay is a must stay!
Thanks Roberta & Claudio!

The Maine Stay is a very special place. The new (Dec. 2008) owners are very gracious hosts. We had the Carriage House room. It is a very comfortable and romantic room! It is on the lower level at the rear of the main house, accessed from it's own staircase. A french door opens onto a private stone patio overlooking the spectacular garden. We stayed two nights but wish our stay could have been longer. Breakfast is served in the sunroom and dining room. We got to breakfast as soon as it started (8:30am) so as to be able to get a table next to the windows where the bird feeders are placed, overlooking the garden. Lots of birds to watch. Hot breakfast was very good, traditional american style such as eggs, bacon, pancakes.

Impeccable service, rooms perfectly prepared and maintained, wonderful breakfasts, with new innkeepers that were even more delightful than previous... and that's not easy! You simply cannot go wrong choosing the Maine Stay for your home away from home in the Camden area. Inn keepers Claudio and Roberta are the perfect hosts. And Debbie has prepared gourmet breakfasts at the inn for 7+ years providing a wonderful continuity between old and new innkeepers. The grounds and gardens were lovely and all this a simple 5 minute walk from downtown Camden. Let it be know to all.. Claudio is fantastic host plus a reasonable and fair business man ... if ever in the Camden area we will return. Highly recommended!

We don't travel often, so when we do it's nice to have pleasant memories to take home with us of our lodgings and the people we encountered there. Roberta and Claudio were wonderful hosts, eager to make our short stay as pleasant as possible. They gave us a warm welcome and offered good suggestions regarding day trips, restaurants, scenic drives, etc. The breakfasts were delicious and provided plenty of opportunity to make the acquaintance of the other guests. The inn itself was quite impressive. Its rich history was introduced to us by Claudio upon arrival, and a much more in-depth description was made available in a binder in our room. We stayed in the Mayflower Suite, which was beautifully decorated and comfortable. All of the common rooms as well as our suite were very clean and obviously well cared for. It was clear to us that Roberta and Claudio take great pride in their inn and are passionate about their role as hosts. I recommend the Maine Stay heartily! (One additional note--the location is perfect. Just a short walk from a vibrant downtown and a breathtakingly beautiful harbor.)
