Lovely views of the landscape, Camden town, harbor, boats, islands, & tower on top. Interesting history about the old Summit House. Friendly, helpful staff at the entrance.

The views were incredible, much better than expected. We drove to the top because we were short on time. Many who hiked up the trail said it was enjoyable and worthwhile. Next time we will hike. On the day we went, the visibility was very clear and you could see 50+ miles an every direction.

Definitely worth going to,especially if you like to view things from on high. Great view of downtown Camden, the bay and surrounding area. The downside was we had read that it was a great place to picnic, so we took lunch. We thought there might've picnic benches, but we found none, so found some shade under a bush. Just know you'll be sitting on rocks or the ground if you want to picnic. There is a charge -per person- to enter. There are trails you can take from there as well.

The view from the summit of Mt Battie is so beautiful. Our family of 5 - adults and teenagers just sat and soaked up the sun and views for over an hour! If you get a clear day, like we had, you will see for miles. To think that I had been to Camden years ago and missed the experience - please don't miss it.

From the top of the mountain you can do as local poet Edna St. Vincent Millay said, "All I could see from where I stood were three long mountains and a wood. I turned and looked the other way and saw three islands in the bay." She did not mention that you would be directly above the quaint village of Camden or that there was the length of Megunticook Lake behind you. For the photographer, artist, hiker, or nature lover, this is a MUST-DO when you are in the area. The entrance is through the state park on Route 1, north of Camden. Or - the ambitious folks can hike to the top from one of many trails.
