We paid the fee ($4.50 adult non Maine resident) to drive up to the top. The views were spectacular. Plenty of parking and trails. The view of Camden Harbor is unbelievable and worth the trip up. They do have bathrooms on the top and you can climb the staircase to the top of the tower to take awesome photos~ with your receipt you get access all day to the mountain and you can cross the street and have access to trails that walk down to the shore.. so pretty and peaceful!

You have to pay a few dollars to get into the park but this place gives you a great view of the Camden bay. Drive up Auto Road and spend a bit of time looking out over the entire area. Bring a bag lunch or dinner and enjoy yourself.

It was a nice size that could be easily hiked. There is something for all levels of hikers. The only downfall for us was that it was rainy and foggy the days we were there so visibility was limited from the mountain top.

We didn't have time to hike Mount Battie, so opted to drive to the top. It was an absolutely beautiful view and well worth the $4.50 per person state park admission. Take a moment to read through the pamphlet provided at the gate as it gives the history of the mountain top and makes the visit a bit more meaningful. Don't forget your camera!

We have hiked Mt Battie for years. A treat for the nature lover, as long as it is not during a great fog!
