“Much to Do and See”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

Ride to the top of Mt. Battie and climb the stairs to the tower or climb Mt. Megunticook. There are panoramic views of Camden and the islands. Walk around the paved road that circles the campground. Cross Route One and walk down a trail to the water. There are benches overlooking the ocean. A small park with a lot of things to do.

“World-Class View from Ocean Lookout”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2012

There are few hikes I can think of that offer the spectacular-ness of view for not a huge (but not totally easy!) hike from Camden Hills State Park. The climb is about 45 minutes at a moderate pace, steep in places, but not crazy tough. And the view from Ocean Lookout gazing over the village of Camden and all the way down the coast as far as Portland, is nothing short of spectacular. You can also drive to the top of Mount Battie which is not as high as Ocean Lookout but provides a similar but perhaps shorter range view.

The state park itself has all you would expect from a Maine state park, and there are decent campsites and you are a short walk from the ocean across the street from the park. So you really get the best of both worlds: woods and ocean. Well worth the visit, camp or hike just a few minutes outside the spectacular little coastal village of Camden!

“Great Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

This park has a lot of well maintained trails for the avid hiker.
While I have not attempted all of the trails yet, the ones I have been on have been great.

“Great Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2012

There are all kinds of hiking trails (from a walk in the woods to challenging) or - if you're so inclined, you can drive to the top of Mt. Battie. A wothwhile stop and a great place for a picnic lunch.
