“The perfect tavern experience. Great atmosphere and value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2011

This is a great spot and one of my favorites in Brunswick. Note the variation in several of the reviews here, and you will figure out some folks' disappointment when you realize that this is a true tavern. A tavern is a locals-oriented family restaurant and bar all in one. Check your watch before you dine with family/children. I go there often with the kids, and if you get there early it is about 80% restaurant and 20% bar. As the dinner hours run by on the clock that ratio shifts, so that just about when families with kids are getting up and heading home, the bar scene is really starting to pick up, and the bar is so much fun that you wish you had a babysitter on immediate call. On other occasions, I have just gone there with my wife for a few drinks and the bar is AWESOME, and then the ratio is 80% bar and 20% restaurant! A great eclectic mix of squirrely Mainers, college students from Bowdoin, and a few Navy guys from the ships in Bath.

“Where did the flavor go?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2011

My husband had a fish dish and I had a hamburger and fries. First, both entrees were edible, but both dishes suffered from the same problem: no flavor. What a disappointment. I can understand not salting a dish, as sometimes chefs over do it and people may have health issues, but the lack of any spices/wine/etc. does not contribute to a wonderful dining experience.

“Fun bar with good food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2011

I was told by a local that this bar was one of the two places to go to at night for drinks. The bar was hopping with people and the service was great. The back has pool tables, fuseball, and Buck Hunter with a front room and upstairs room for casual dining. I had a lobster roll for dinner that was pure, chunky goodness. The rest of my freinds enjoyed their sandwiches and burgers too. They also have self serve popcorn for lighter eaters.
