Many restaurants have great food, many are in great locations, many are the perfect place to celebrate an event. This restaurant delivers on all those expectations, but more so, is an experience in learning to savour food. The orchestration of delivery of each small plate, enables you to taste and appreciate subtle flavors and textures, the presentation of each plate makes you appreciate color and shape of the food and the variety of food, is interesting. You are just full enough when you leave, but never stuffed and you senses and taste buds have had a pleasureable experience. I cannot say enough positives about this place. Just trust me and know you will never be disappointed.

After living in Shanghai, China the last 5 years and being an American I was delighted to try Tao Yuan. It is the perfect mix of east and west with an immaculate attention to detail. Each dish is prepared to perfection with a wide variety of spices, herbs, and flavors that you will not find anywhere else. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the start helping to navigate the delicious menu.

We were able to order quite a few dishes and share them which allowed us to try many more varieties than at a normal meal. The dishes were delicately prepared and the Chef used unique combinations not seen anywhere before. The drinks we had were twists on traditional ones seen elsewhere.

Each vegetable tasted so FRESH! Felt like it came just from the farm that could even be in its backyard. I will definitely go back and look forward to having friends go with me.

Based upon a recommendation, we travelled from Portland to this lovely restaurant, and after our meal, we knew we were treated to one of, if not, the best dinners ever. While the menu changes often, we were fortunate to have the clams, which were the best we ever had, including all clams from South Carolina, Long Island, and Rhode Island. The BLT buns (with their own curing recipe) was to die for, and the lamb chops were equally exquisite. We would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. It was worth the half-hour drive, and is worth a longer drive if necessary.

This is a really unique and interesting restaurant....Asian tapas dining. We had a party of seven and made reservations (recommended). They suggest that each person order 3 to 4 items off the menu (to share). We found however that we really could have done fine with 2 items each (you can always add more if you find it is not enough). Three to four was, in our situation, too much...as the portions were very generous for tapas style dining in our opinion. The food was outstanding....very good service too. We will go back again...but start out with fewer menu items per person. Casual dress is fine for the restaurant. Great place.

Great ambiance, decor, staff, and the food is outstanding! Chef Cara came out at the end of our meal to see how we liked our food and to ask for suggestions on how to improve the food even more. This is an ever-changing menu and she uses her international training to create some interesting and delicious plates. This young chef has a bright future!
