If you are a Civil War buff, you MUST see Joshua Chamberlain's house. Great artifacts and you'll get a sense of the man himself.

This is a great museum which shares a lot of history and little known facts abotu a war hero that everyone should see and learn more about. For many years the house was actually a Bowdoin Frat house, until it was finally realized the historical value of the property and was then turned into t museum by the Pejebscot Historical Society. Low cost your with great guides and many original itmes, including the desk of Joshua Chamberlain himself and many war articles. Well worth the visit if you are in the Bath/Brunswick area, only about a 15 minute drive from Bath and within walking distance of downtown Brunswick. You can also walk to the other Pejebscot owned Scolfield Whittier House which is also worth a visit and has great guides and curators.

As a civil war buff I had to visit this place on a recent trip to Maine. The tour was reasonably priced and well presented by a knowledgeable guide This place is a piece of history all should see. As a professor, governor and medal of honor recipient, all Americans should come here.

The Joshua L Chamberlain museum in Brunswick, ME is a must see for any civil war history buff. The tour will give you a greater perspective of this great man's life after his civil war days were finished. The tour guide did a great job and was very informative. If you decide to go read " In the Hands of Providence" by Alice Rains Trulock before your visit and it will give you an even better understanding.
