“great little pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Ate here during a recent visit-very good food and drinks at a fair price. Our waitress was lovely. Panseared scallops with rice pilaf were a highlight as was the shrimp alfredo. Clearly popular with localsas we met several on both visits and we can see why

“Just a perfect end to a great vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

We were slowly meandering back from our vacation to home, and hadn't eaten all day. A quick search on TA and we found this place, truly just a stroke of luck. It looked cute so we stopped in just intending to have a drink and app. After one of the best salads ever (berries and nuts and blue cheese and fresh greens), onion rings, soup, chowder and awesome spicy cheese popper things (and several drinks) we were stuffed and very happy. Waitress was new but super friendly and worked really hard. Customers were cordial and it did seem like Cheers as one of the reviewers mentioned. We're ready to head back to Maine just to go here again!

“Great little find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

We have been driving around alot to become familiar with the area. We have driven by many times but never stopped until a few nites ago. Cozy place, like being at home. Our waitress Julie (I think)was great. We had actually met her earlier at the town office. The food was really good and tasted like a real homecooked meal. It was so flavorful and tasty. Great place to stop for a bite or grab a drink. Great relaxed and casual atmosphere. We will be back!

“Good Hometown Restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

We ate at Back Burner twice this week, and had good meals both times. On our first visit, we had the scallops and haddock with lobster sauce. Both were prepared well. Not what we expected in a small town!

They have good beer on tap and a nicely accented bar area. It appeared that many locals ate here as well. Good place to go for some family style cooking. Deserts are home made and good.

“Great Neighborhood Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

We come to Denmark Maine every summer and make a point of stopping by to see Doug & Kate. Most of the people from Granger Pond visit the Back Burner frequently and it feels like Cheers. They always remember who you are and always have a welcoming smile when you enter. The food is quite good - whether it be a full meal or a sandwich. We've been following Doug & Kate since they had 2 places in Denmark. The Brownfield location is the best. If you want a laid back place with good atmosphere and lots of great beers, this is the place for you
