This hotel still feels extremely new in the way that it is run and managed. First, the cons - While the rooms are nice, the bathrooms are extremely poorly designed. You either run the chance of smashing the glass shower door on the towel rack or leaving it open to have the main bathroom door crash into it. Most of the staff have serious trouble communicating in english. This can be sorted with further training I would think. Housekeeping is just a disaster. Despite there being two guests in the room, they only provided us with one set of towels etc. Trying to get extra towels was an extended exercise involving 3 trips by housekeeping and 5 phone calls to the staff. The reason- "1 bath towel and 4 hand towels" apparently gets lost in translation. They don't do the greatest job cleaning the room either.
Internet - do not expect to have an internet connection at this hotel because their IT dept and infrastructure are rooted in the year 1996. It is painfully slow and absurdly expensive (like all hotels) and intermittent. We also had a deal that supposedly had free internet. That meant one prepaid card for only one resident of the room for 3 hours a day. Seriously! And they absolutely refused to give us a second one even though we paid for double room.
Pros: The bar is a great little spot in a town where there is very little to do post 7 pm. The main guy behind the bar is extremely engaging and cooperative when it comes to his guests. We enjoyed our time there.
The cafe actually has a really interesting menu that is worth checking out.
Breakfast at the hotel isn't bad either.
All in all, this property still needs time to find its bearings, appropriately train staff or pay higher wages to attract better quality staff. It definitely needs to look into being a really modern business hotel by having facilities that any place should in 2012 - such as the internet and into possibly having more experienced industry professionals at the management level.
I also wasn't happy with the security at this hotel. There are too many random people walking in and out of the hotel and on different floors because of multiple establishments on the first two floors. Floor access should be restricted to guests only.
Finally, the property has a beautiful pool but nothing around it is set up yet. They are yet to have a bar operational there.
