Came here with a walking group and really enjoyed the Sunday roast. The service and food was very good, and we were made very welcome. The staff went out of their way to find somewhere for our group of muddy walkers and dogs to sit (even though this isn't a 'dog-friendly' establishment) and we really enjoyed our lunch. Will definitely return!

Recently visited for a family meal. The starters were ok to be fair. I ordered medium rare rump steak for ~£18 and what I got was a very very overcooked bit of tough steak, half a burnt tomato and about 10 chips. I would have been disappointed at having that from a '2 meals for £10' at weatherspoon, but for £18 ... total rip-off. Other family member had lamb, which was not quite as bad a mine, but very tough. Plenty of other places around where the quality of food justifies their prices. This place doesn't, so we won't be going back.

Whilst visiting friends nearby they took us for an evening meal at the Golden Lion. What a joy.
Friendly welcome, excellent beer, superb food.

Plenty of people in the place even though it was midweek so it must be doing something right

What more can you ask from a night out

I stayed for 1 night and with all of the other hotel rooms booked by my fellow work colleagues, we used the conference room facilities the next day which were adequate. We had group evening meal, service was excellent. We had Lunch the next day and considering the amount of us, again the food and service you could not fault.

Wi-fi speed is good

So as usual the very good place to stay.

Room Tip: Free Wi-fi,, not much difference between the rooms

We went on a Sunday for a carvery, with friends and family it was a really nice meal the beef was really tender and moist, massive beautiful Yorkshire puddings and had Eton mess for dessert which was also gorgeous. Probably the nicest carvery I've ever had.

We stayed here for 3 nights from 10th January on the D.B.&B deal and couldn't fault a thing. The room was clean and well-stocked, the hosts were absolutely brilliant, and as many have said before, the staff were so friendly and helpful. A fact proven by Dawn who has been there for 34 years. Food was excellent with a varied choice on the menu. All in all, a "to be repeated" experience.

Room Tip: We had room 121, the 4-poster which was great.

Have stayed here before so that should say a few things.

The rooms are well kept and clean with all you need.
The pub offers great food and good ale all served in a very welcoming atmosphere.

It is a shame that I have never yet had time to study this historic building and dig into such a great example of the English past.

Plenty of parking space and easy access to Rugby in the morning. For business visitors - I made Rugby town centre in less than 20 mins leaving at 8am on a weekday -maybe I was lucky?

If you are visiting Rugby School, then I would suggest stay here. It is close and will give you a splendid start to old England in readiness for the School proper.

Thanks for your comments.

We are very lucky that the village of Easenhall is very quiet and rural, but like you say within 20 minutes at peak times you can be in the centre of Rugby.

Many Rugby School parents stay with us at the end of term or when visiting their children during the term, sometimes joining us for our Sunday Carvery.
