The food is top notch with the exception of the buffet. We had some very wonderful dinners and the service was usually very good.
The beach has soft white sand and the water was warm and colored teal blue.
We didn't leave the resort as It is very remote feeling. Think of it as a beached cruise ship.
The fitness center and the spa were both seriously lacking though. The spa feels like being zoo exhibit with confusing cement walls all around you. The massage area is actually a bunch of beach tents crammed into a large dark room. You can here other guests and the massage itself was mediocre at best.

The resort was very well kept, service was great, rooms nice(although wish we would not have had to be in it so much because of rain). Tried to make the most of our vacation but after 5 days of rain and basically no sun, it kind of got to you! Tropical storm "Ida" was on top of us the whole trip. We spend time in lobby a lot. We prefer the open lobby more than the enclosed. We were in the Preferred club area and it was well worth the extra money. Acess to private bar area with continental breakfast, appetizers etc. and computers. We went for an anniversary. The staff was exceptional!! It was not the fault of the resort we had bad luck on the weather.

My wife and I just returned last night from a 7 night stay to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We had rain 6 days of our 7 but still had the best time at this beautiful resort. As a surprise to my wife I had reserved one of the oceanfront Honeymoon suites and didn't tell her about it until we were on the plane headed to Cancun airport.

We were met at the front doors of the hotel with a "welcome home " and were immediately taken by cart to the preferred lounge for checkin. Monica was very sweet and welcomed us with cold towels and champagne and told us all about the resort, restaurants, daily activities etc. Preferred lounge was very attractive and had computers for guest use, a bar and always some kind of food offerings. We were then taken by concierge to our incredible oceanfront Honeymoon suite. It was so beautiful with a living room with sofa, chair and ottaman, chaise, hugh dining table wih four upholstered chairs, a large wet bar, a separate bedroom, large 2 person jacuzzi in bedroom, 2 bathrooms, and a huge double balcony with a very large jacuzzi tub that easily would hold at least 4 people. There were also 2 flat screen tvs and a large walk-in closet. We also had the most beautiful unobstructed view of the incredible Maroma beach.

A person definately could not go hungry at this resort. Food is constantly offered by the pool, on the beach, room service, all the restaurants etc, etc. Did we love everything we tried? No, of course not. That doesn't mean the food isn't good it just means everyone has different tastes. If we didn't like one thing, we would just try another.

People have commented that the grounds are not pretty. Oh my God, they are absolutely spectacular. If you take the time to really enjoy all the plantings in the many many beds, it is just incredible what they have done. I guess you can tell by now that we loved this resort. If we had to pick one aspect of our stay that was our favorite, it would definately be the staff. Each person from the gardeners to our wonderful concierge, Carlos, were friendly, warm and sincerely wanted the guests to have the time of their lives. We can't wait to return in 2010

We've stayed at a dozen hotels in Cancun and Riviera Maya. This is by far the best all inclusive that we have ever been to. Above excellent rooms, food and service. The beach was fabulous. Top shelf booze and bartenders who know how to make a drink.
It rained almost the entire 5 nights and 4 days that we were their (Hurricane Ida was passing through) so you know that we must be pleased with the hotel after the weather fiasco.

Fabulous location (large white sandy beach), friendly and efficient staff, excellent restaurant facilities....what else?
A nice place to relax before or after starting to tour the Yucatan peninsula.
