“Quintessential Rocky Coast of Maine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

A beautiful view out to the islands and a scenic setting on the rock bound coast. You can climb on the rocks, but be careful. People have been swept out to sea by foolishly getting too close to the unpredictable surf. There's a small but very worth while museum in the base of the lighthouse that should not be missed.

“Perfect views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013

Time your visit to Pemaquid to make sure the tower is open as it is staffed with knowledgeable volunteers. Low tide is best for photo ops so check the local tide report. Bring your lunch to enjoy on the picnic tables in the wooded area.

“Lighthouse History”

You can go inside the historical home of the lighthouse keepers. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the day. There are picnic tables overlooking the ledges and the ocean.

“Watch the Ocean from the Rocks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

We have always enjoyed going out on the ledges to sit and watch the ocean waves hitting the rocks. You can hear the lobster boats plying the waters and watch the lobstermen pulling their traps. You can take your dog on a leash and sit with them atop the highest ledge. It's very relaxing.

“Family Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

Take your kids to see this piece of history. It will educate and make memories for you all. It is near enough to other great places to visit, so you can plan a full day.
