The Black Horse is one of my favorite restaurants in Bridgton. Has a varied menu and the prices aren't bad either. I really like the baked stuffed haddock. Service is very good.

If you are looking for a burger on a saturday or some amazing fish dish on a friday night or just the best steak in town, look no further. The staff is super friendly - which can't be easy because it gets SO busy! Excellent food, great atmosphere and the Sunday brunch is fantastic. Join their Facebook page to see upcoming specials, it'll blow your mind!

I have been to the Black Horse Tavern several times and have never been disappointed! The steak tips are to "die for"! The fish chowder is thick and delicious. Fried clams were tender and lightly battered - best I've had in a long time!

The Black Horse stands out as one of the only restaurants in Bridgton, an otherwise-lovely little town on the road from Portland to North Conway (that is, aside from coffee shops and pizza parlors). It is an agreeable-enough place with good service. But from the menus through dessert, there isn't much difference between it and a well-managed Ruby Tuesdays. There are better burgers/pub food and a whole lot more atmosphere to be had down the road six miles south in Naples at the Black Bear Cafe or Bray's Brewpub. There are MUCH better entrees on the north end of Bridgton at Venezia Ristorante, and MUCH, MUCH better entrees (and amazing atmosphere) at the Oxford House Inn in Fryeburg.
