Let's face it- good food is hard to come by in this area. The Oxford House Inn over in Fryeburg is AMAZING but also expensive and a bit of a drive for us from Lovell.
We drove past the Campfire Grill several times before trying it and always wondered why it looked so busy- now we know! The bar is a great area to watch games if there are any on and their drink list is incredibly expansive. The menu has equally as many options. The food is as good if not better than your typical bar food. Many of the meals are named after local places but it would be great to see a few more local ingredients used in the cooking, especially during the summer. I've gotten ribs (they were slightly too fatty), a salad (pretty tasty and fresh), and a bowl of past (could have used a bit more flavor).
We've been a few times where there was a live band playing and the crowd really gets into it! All in all, I'd say this is a must stop if you're in the area and hungry or thirsty...
