“Best in the area”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

Let's face it- good food is hard to come by in this area. The Oxford House Inn over in Fryeburg is AMAZING but also expensive and a bit of a drive for us from Lovell.

We drove past the Campfire Grill several times before trying it and always wondered why it looked so busy- now we know! The bar is a great area to watch games if there are any on and their drink list is incredibly expansive. The menu has equally as many options. The food is as good if not better than your typical bar food. Many of the meals are named after local places but it would be great to see a few more local ingredients used in the cooking, especially during the summer. I've gotten ribs (they were slightly too fatty), a salad (pretty tasty and fresh), and a bowl of past (could have used a bit more flavor).

We've been a few times where there was a live band playing and the crowd really gets into it! All in all, I'd say this is a must stop if you're in the area and hungry or thirsty...

“The food is incredible, it just keeps getting better”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

We have been to the CampFire several times and seriously, it has gotten better and better each time. They seem to be paying attention and really adding what's needed. The menu is just fantastic. Lobster and Pasta. Oh my gosh. The best! We have decided that the best service is in the bar. Nice pub tables etc. The staff pays great attention in the bar area.

“Great dinners”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

The menu is varied with lots of choices. The food is great, drinks are great. It's casual and the bar is very close by, so if you have kids, you may want to be out of "hearing distance" of the busy bar. Service with a couple of the waitresses is great, the others? not so much. Kind of weird to see the owner standing around in a sweatshirt looking bored.

“Out of this world ribs and steak tips!!!”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

If this restaurant isn't too far away from you, you MUST go there now!! If I remember correctly, the menu said it was a Rootbeer BBQ sauce they use on their fall off the bone ribs. Amazing!! We also had the steak tips and the friend that told me about the place said if you like shrimp cocktail, order the Moose Breath appetizer. For side orders we tried the homemade potato chips, cole slaw, sweet potato fries and veggie blend of that day. Everything was scrumptious. They serve their kids meals in a frisbee with their logo and ad on it. Genius marketing!! My dogs love frisbees and they sold me a couple for a reasonable cost. It was jam slamming busy but the waitress was very friendly and attentive. They also offer a shuttle van service Friday and Saturday nights within an 8 mile radius for FREE to discourage drinking and driving. Another awesome. They have a "campfire" dessert. It's the hibachi thing you would get with a pu pu platter, you get marshmallows, sticks to "toast" them, graham crackers and Hershey bars for $8.50. You can pay $1.50 more and get Reese's Peanut Butter Cup instead. We saw a group of three kiddos loving it.

“Came for the music, we will return for the food!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

We were driving by and saw on the sign outside that the Squid Jiggers would be playing on Friday night, so we decided to go. I am so glad we did. Of course we enjoyed the music but the food and service was excellent too. We had the Deer Chips for an appetizer and then different burgers for our dinners. Everything was cook perfectly and very tasty combinations. We will be back soon!
